Dude with JR at Qb SU could score 7 points on yall. Newsflash. Yall will not be overnight sensations. Comegy has work to do. His job this year is to get you back to respectability first. Any other expectation from JSU fans and alumni is unrealistic. Yall are starting to sound like Notre Dame people now. And think they got resources. LOL

That's another thing that urks me. Ty won 10 games at ND his first year. Wise won 9 now they're acting like he's some savior.

Um, we were not as low as you would hope for us to be. Without any practice, we had Hampton on the ropes and the TNState game was ours with the right playcalling. We could have started out 4-0. That's handles the coaching. PV only had 200 yards of offense against a makeshift team and Alcorn was only up by 3 in the 4th quarter against that same makeshift team. With the depth we have now and the coaching, we can do great things. We don't think smalltime.

Ya'll have more work to do than anyone in the SWAC (except TxSU). The best ya'll can do is hope to avenge your loss to P.V.

Dude, don't be fooled. Comegy could have gone 4-5 last year like Petey did. The team we had would have whooped SU with a QB change alone...also Comegy's defense would not have let you scored that 20 points. But if you want to live in that fantasy world of yours, go right ahead. Jackson will not be nice to the Gags.

Now TP, I didn't say that yall will not be better. But remember some other teams will be that way too. You don't put a lot stock into chemistry I see. You will have a bunch of newcomers on the field. Comegy is going to decide who starts and who doesn't. It will be a learning curve for him as well. Pete inherited a team already in place in 93 and just did what a good coach should. Same thing Coe did replacing LC Cole. Same that Ty did at ND and Weiss just did at ND. Comegy aint coming into that kind of situation or else he wouldn't have went out to sign a bunch of players. You will have a Qb battle. You may even have a Rb battle. Just because you and GR think Kennebrew and the other kid will start.......doesn't mean Comegy does.

That's not thinking smalltime. That's thinking smart. I really think Comegy will have the Tigers back. But not in the SCG just yet. I think 07 will be the year yall make the big noise in the East and the SWAC. 7-4 is not bad when you have hit rock bottom with Bell. 8-3 is possible. But I just don't see 9-2, 10-1 or 11-0 yet. If you guys expectg that then you are really throwing Comegy under the bus. Because it sounds like you will be disappointed if you are not the East Champs or SWAC Champs in year 1. This is your serve notice that JSU aint no punk year. 2007 should be about bringing the hardware back to Jackson tour. But hey if you think it will happen overnight hey that's your choice.

JR, you can't find a single JSU fan who thinks we will win the SWAC this year. About 4-5 teams are better than us on paper but we also believe that will beat one or two of that 4 or 5. Southern is a prime candidate to lose to Comegy. Again, our team was not as sorry as you think. Our staff had to change things up mid-season...making teams like PV ahead of us. But, as I already pointed out...PV only had 200 yards of offense and Alcorn did not run over us like they did SU. This was only after two weeks of a new system and a new QB. We had realistic chance of beating Hampton, TNState, Valley, TxSo, Southern, PV and Alcorn with what we had last year. Three things stood in the way...Bell's defensive stance, Bell's offensive playcalling, Steve Haren, 3 week old system, and depth. Excluding depth, we could have won 7 games last year with what we had. Comegy has added to that AND he has more then 3 weeks to implement his system. The only team last year that were waaaaaaaaay better than us were AAMU, AlaState, GSU, and UAPB. Actually, the UAPB which still had a lot to do with the way Bell plays defense. So I don't see us as a 2-9 team but rather closer to a 5-6 to 7-4 team that had a lot of things to overcome. I don't see 7-8 wins as unrealistic this year. Southern on the other hand.... :eek:

I don't know about that now. That will accept 7-4. But 6-5, I don't know man. Jackson is like Baton Rouge. The natives get restless even in year 1.

Hey I agree to a certain extent. You should have won more. But one thing you have to remember now. Teams are really going to come prepared even more so now that Comegy is there. Don't think Pete going to treat him the same way he did Bell. Pete aint no fool. He knows that Comegy has 3 statement games on the schedule at least. Bama State, SU and Gram. AAMU and Alcorn would be the others if you want to throw them in the mix. Nothing gives a JSU fan more satisfaction than a win over SU or Gram. More so SU because of the nature of the rivalry. Pete knows that. He also knows how the typical Jag feels about JSU. Some Jags rather lose to Gram than JSU. Bama State is a given just because of recent history. Hell even Bama State fan wonders if Comegy magic will rub off at JSU against them. So believe me aint nobody going to take JSU lightly now that Bell is gone.

The one game he can't let up on is Valley. Totten needs that win and JSU has no reason to take Valley serious because yall have beaten them even with Bell. So that is a game Comegy must instill in his players that it is a must win. Tn State is rebuilding so I think that game will be JSU's for the taking. I could be wrong. I don't know what they have to load up with. Like I said Comegy got his work cut out for him. The Soul Bowl should be interesting as well. We will see how well JSU comes out the gate. That will be key. Paul Quinn is a win so that aint nothing but a scrimmage. 1 month and 2 weeks left before the season starts.

I hear ya. I guess my hometown done changed then. Well I can tell you right now it aint like that in BR. Pete knows the street committee is on the warpath. With new board members, new AD and a new System President at SU and even a new Band director lol.............who knows what kind of pressure Pete is going to feel this year. That's why I know we going to come to play. It aint no fun when it gets tuff on the bluff. :jump:

Just because the SWAC doesn't have a McNair or Nord or whomever doesn't mean in 06 JSU will magically arrive. TP done said so already that the majority of yall will be happy with 6-5. With a win over either a SU or Gram. I guess yall just think it will be SU. But if we are so sorry it shouldn't be that big of deal. Go for it if can. JR doubts it seriously that you will win that game.
