On paper our class was the best by far because of both quality and quantity. But there rankings are just good for conversation. At HBCUs we never really know what we have until the kids show up for fall practice.

plus, these rankings don't take into account the late signings and transfers, cause that would DEFINITELY have an effect on the rankings.

That's a crazy question...they aren't going to rank someone that high because you signed a high number of people. It has to be based on the number of transfers and the quality of those transfers when they were signed at their former schools. You have to remember that you have a lot a good people sitting on the bench at the Div I-A level. Example....That Coe kid that just transfered to ASU

Maybe Southern may not be on the list because PETE was left scrambling aftter Katrina took away his New Orleans recruits. How many New Orleans boys did he sign? Of course, you Jags would never use Katrina as an excuse. (lol). It'll take a couple of years to see the results on the field. This years BC is already decided!

Are you kidding me? No matter what yall think of Pete now. It aint like he hasn't won every thing in 1-AA except a 1-AA Championship. Which we never go to the playoffs for. Are you saying that Comegy has accomplished more in his career than Pete?

That post up there looks like somebody read the SWAC Page and MEAC Fans board. It has no credibility at all. We actually signed a very nice class of kids in 06. Seven of which are already on the yard doing voluntary workouts. That is not to mention the JC and other transfers. Somebody needs to put this in on our bullentin board. I know if I was coaching SU I would.

You keep talking about what he has done in the past, that dont make a hill of beans to a 17 year old. You can either recruit, can promise to send him to the league, or show him great facilities. SU cant do either of the 3. Hence 4-5 record with 2 losses to Albany and McNeese unofficial.

Pete retired when he signed his name on that last contract buddy....believe that.

GR, you fail to realize that Pete aint the recruiter anyway and never has been. Eric Dooley is our recruiting coordinator. So you are saying all of the 26-30 kids we signed are scrubs. None are worthy of mentioning? BTW the 4-5 record has nothing to do with recruiting. Some of it has to do with just getting beat and some of it is because folks get hurt and the young players being inexperienced. Look what happened to Gram when Bruce and those WRs went down in 2004. So I guess recruiting was their issue too for their record. I guess if Bama State don't win alot this year it will have to do with recruiting and not the fact they will be young and just lost T. Jackson and company. Come on GR. Even the major schools fall off for year or so until the new players start playing better. I guess if Texas doesn't win like they did last year it is because Mack Brown didn't recruit worth a isht. Same for USC. Some of yall really don't know football.

And another thing while JR is at it. When has SU ever been considered a recruiting machine in your mind. According to the great GR, SU has never had any talent. So why should we start now. We just a bunch of scrubs and always will be in your mind. We could line up Reggie Bush at Rb and you would say he is a scrub and nobody wanted him since he went to SU. Just like you down Gerard Landry who Colorado recruited hard. But to GR he is slow. See where I am going with this. ..........
