Nike makes eye-opening Ja Morant decision after another gun incident

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant finds himself in hot water again after another gun incident on Instagram Live. He’s been suspended from all team activities while the NBA also investigates the matter. To make matters worse, it appears Nike is punishing Ja.

Per TMZ, the company removed all of his new sneakers from their website. However, you can still buy them from several retailers including Dicks Sporting Goods and Flight Club. Nevertheless, Nike is clearly trying to make their voice heard here.

The NBAPA is not happy, and shouldn't be, with the length of the suspension.

And they are right

As someone pointed out, Morant didn't break any laws and has not been arrested for anything so to give him almost the same length suspension as Miles Bridges (who we KNOW put his hands on his girlfriend) makes them look bad

Going Yosemite Sam on IG was not a good look and he definitely deserves a suspension but suspending him for 25 games for breaking no laws compared to 30 games for actual DV... yikes

Law has nothing to do with it, not sure why folks even keep mentioning that. Also keep forgetting or ignoring the fact that he skated on it once and did it again. The average person would've just gotten fired with no questions asked.

What average person would have gotten fired for what Ja did? Cite examples. There are plenty of those 2A types who pose with guns all the time or (shoot objects with them in a fit of political rage) who've never lost their jobs.

Ja's behavior was only fine-worthy. There has never been any standard for such a punishment in the NBA. This is the longest NBA suspension for someone who didn't commit an on-court violation or used a banned substance or committed an actual crime.

Then when the contract is up-they can address this.

Let them be mad. Maybe they need to have a conversation with Ja in the meantime. So he can know these folks are NOT going to play with you when you BLEEP with their money.

That was not about Ja that was about pandering to a certain demographic. Just like the Grizzlies dumping Dillon Brooks and Demarcus Cousin can't find work.

And as for normal folks-guess what folks have lost their jobs. However if you live in certain states-you do NOT have to be told WHY you are fired.

How many folks have been fired over social media posts?

But he vilolated the terms of his contract that he signed as a NBA player. People need to understand this is not a legal issue, as no laws were broken, but it is a contract agreement issue. If Ja wants to flash guns on IG or other social media outlets, then he needs to quit the NBA and given up the all the money. It is not the NBA fault that Ja did not take what he signed seriously. The nba in part is able to generate revinue in part off the image of their players and if said players create a negative image then it will effect the bottom line and thus that is why that specific rule was put into place that NBA teams owners and the Player's Association both signed and agree to.

I know one thing is that when it comes time to renew the agreement between the player's association and nba owners, the team owners may take a harder stance due to Ja and Ben Simmons actions.

If the wholesome image of the NBA really mattered then Mike Malone and several Nuggets players should get disciplined for being filmed on camera actively drinking to the point of intoxication and dropping f-bombs on live TV during their victory parade. Because do we really want kids and families to think that’s OK?

Ja and Ben Simmons gonna make the CBA negotiations interesting when they come up LOL

F the laws, F the CBA, he should get suspended for being stupid/reckless with a gun. He’s lucky he was filmed being dumb with a gun because this fool would’ve shot someone in the next 5 years if he hadn’t been caught.

90% of the folks that work in a corporate job position, basically. People get cancelled and lose their jobs just for making statements on the internet these days... it's not that hard to figure out.
