No surprises here. MH's team is picked first and he still has JSU in his head.
what in da world are you talking about kid?

Just because your team was picked last doesnt mean that folks don't suppose to comment on them.

sheesh!

Re: Hornets Are Picked to Win it All, With Offensive and Defensive POTY

DL- Corey Barrett - Prairie View A&M, (6-3, 240, Jr., Houston, TX)

Interesting.

There may be 'other' players that would/will probably surprise this fall. Frazier believes in defense from what I gather. We're going to surprise quite a few teams w/ our current direction.

I know gram folks get a lil fuzzy with numbers, but......

Alabama State (89)
Grambling (85)

This only says who will win their divisions. The SCG will decide who wins the conference championship. :whatever:

Obviously, you're the one crying dude.

...even trying to pretend that 89 is not more than 85

Re: Hornets Are Picked to Win it All, With Offensive and Defensive POTY

Y'all must (and the coaches) must watch a different game from me. I believe the below man should be pre-season defensive POY:

DL- Lieutenant Dukes - Alabama A&M, (6-3, 220, Sr., Birmingham, AL)

Not to take away from Lieutenant, but Johnny Baldwin IMO should have been Pre-Season Defensive POTY. Not to mention, he put up WAAAAAY BETTER #s than Gresham from Alabama State.

LB- Johnny Baldwin - Alabama A&M, (6-2, 218, Jr., Bessemer, AL)

Nope, all I am telling you, is that ALBST is favored in the East and that Grambling is the favorite to win the west by a smaller margin. To make it simple SU is better than AAMU. The voters felt that the west was going to be a Dog fight. Thats all. :ebrow:

What are you laughing at, SUcks punked out last year.

You are one of the people that see the "S" and lose your mind. I was laughing at the comment about jsu offense can "click" at anytime. After 1 yard rushing against S.U. and not crossing the 50 a couple of times the last two years, I find it funny as hell..........but who knows.

:lmao:

Oh yea.......when Bell beats someone that is funny too. (let's not get into that last year scheduling thing....I believe the series record is 40-9 S.U.)

You all have a .184 winning percentage against S.U.

Not that it REALLY makes any difference, but what's the difference?

Alabama State (89) Gram(85) diff. of 4 points
Alabama A&M (68) SU (72) diff. of 4 points

Are the 4's in Louisiana different from the 4's in the rest of the nation?

You made my point, thats where the four comes from. Its says SU and Grambling are closer and that ALBST is the class in the east.

Ummmm.... the differences you should be looking at are 89-68 BAMA (21 pts) and 85-72 Louisiana (13 pts)

See that's why R.I.F.

Cat was talking about the points that separate the pre-season #1 in the East and the pre-season #1 in the west. He made the post about AAMU and SU, and I posted the points that separate the pre-season #2s in both divisions.

Re: Hornets Are Picked to Win it All, With Offensive and Defensive POTY

I like GSU's Greg Fassitt, a junior cb from New Orleans. Last year was Fassit's first on the field as a sophomore. He got better and better as the season progressed. A good cover corner with nice speed and break on ball. He will turn some heads during the season.

Their numbers warrant the selection, but Spillers and Vernon both have unproven qbs... Not that they aren't legit 1st team picks but wondering if the inexperience will impact them. Is the tall receiver from Bama State coming back?

Good luck all...let's have a fun season.

OH BTW - Mighty Hornet, I need to correct you on the title of this thread. The Hornets were not picked to win it all. Just picked to win the East.

Re: Hornets Are Picked to Win it All, With Offensive and Defensive POTY

I AM GLAD THE HORNETS' TALENT IS BEING RECOGNIZED! CONGRATS! WITH ALL THE TALENT ON VARIOUS SWAC TEAMS THE SEASON SHOULD BE INTERESTING.

IT GREAT TO BE #1 IN THE BEGINING BUT IT IS BETTER TO BE #1 IN THE END. :smash:

Re: Hornets Are Picked to Win it All, With Offensive and Defensive POTY

ONE MORE INTERESTING FACT, THE SWAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, AND KELDRICK WILLIAMS ALL PLAYER HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOGETHER AT LANIER HIGH SCHOOL IN MONTGOMERY ALABAMA. THAT WOULD BE TAVARIUS JACKSON, BILLY GRESHAM, AND KELDRICK WILLIAMS.
