Win or Lose I think Grambling Should Go D-1A

SWAC coaches are sub-par in execution and approach in comparison to other conferences. This was the telling factor in the loss to SJUS. It was like watching an espn2 televised team vs. a BET televised team. If our conference school had a similar coaching staff, we would be more competitive and a jump to D-1 would be more logical.

Spoken like a true ?Uncle Tom?... I don't know what game ya'll were watching but the game I was watching showed GSU in the game up until the fourth quarter. You all missing the fact that the game was actually winnable... It wasn't like they blew us out 55 - 7 (like South. Miss did ya'll)... The team was a little nervous and jittery and the offensive play calling was questionable, but other than that they did pretty good... Just like typical nickauhs to always be pessimistic... Why aren't ya'll talking about how good the defense played typically #55 who is a man-child... But you know what I'm tired of preaching to the choir... All I can say is we must be doing something right we were on TV...

How is that being an uncle tom? Hell the coaching WAS the major problem that kept them from winning the game. Going for a TD when they could've gotten a field goal that wouldve turned the momentum of the game, not adjusting to pick up the blitz, not utilizing the running game....that was poor coaching. Now Eugene did miss some much needed passes, but you cant put it all on him. As far as the coaching in the SWAC being subpar to many other conferences, can you produce any substance that says its a lie? That uncle tom remark was pretty immature...especially for someone that rarely even posts here.

Is it really coaching?
Do HBCUs go into games against PWC psychologically defeated? Is it a mindset? Is it like, "well,,, this game really don't mean nothing in the (enter HBCU conference) standings,, it's a money game"?
Now clearly this was not the case, for example, when FAMU punched an unsuspecting Troy State in the mouth IN THE PLAYOFFS of all places,,, but generally speaking? Just asking the question.

Who in the HELL iz yo country non-football watchin' gsu fanboy azz callin' an uncle tom. Don't hate because you don't know **** about football, kissin' Doug's sack can't tell real coaching when you see it. GSU called plays like they were playing Madden. Deal with reality. The SWAC has coaching and officiating issues. If you can't deal with that, GSU should try to achieve the highest level of mediocrity in D-1AA. Hey, let me ask you a question, was you at E-Robs last game. If not STF. Go to the mall and by an outfit for the game.

You got beat by a team that isn't even close to competing in its own conf, not to mention rank 115th in defense out of 117, get off the freakin crack.
Hell you weren't ever in the game because it was obvious after about the fourth squander opportunity you weren't going to score and the fact is that their offense was just a shade better than yours because they did run the ball.
But here you are, self proclaim champions of the HBCU's still spouting off like you accomplish something...pathetic,simply pathetic.

I noticed that it's kinda hard for you to be objective when it comes to Grambling. But the fact of the matter is that SJSU was competitive in their conference. I believe their conference record was 4-4. The lost their last conference game to Fresno State by 3pts or less.
There ranking last year has nothing to do with this year...teams do improve from year to year. Just because they finished 115th last year doesn't necessarily mean they will finish there or lower this year. Or do you think SU will finish with the same 6-6 record this year?

Why are you restating the obvious??? Everything that you have referred to has been said and no one is disagreeing with that... But like I said the game was NOT a total annihilation, we were in the game... And as for the remarks, last time I checked this was America where I can say whatever the _ _ _ _ (fill in the blanks) I want to say... Two question, what school do you attend and how many generations are you at your school??? My point exactly? The SWAC page is too watered down with imitators and ?wanna-bees?. It discourages and disappoints me to even read and reply to some of these posts, that?s why my posts are so low.
Oh and if our coach was so bad why do other D-1 schools want our coach, not yours but ours... When was the last time that your coach had an interview with a D-1 school??? A school is not going to interview a coach that they feel can?t help their program?

Yes I was at Eddie Robinson?s last game... And just some facts, Doug ain't the only one with a mean left hook. I can pick up were he left off with your coach... So don't write any checks that your whole school can't cash... Let me ask you something why are you on here saying anything about Grambling when your school as taken on of the greatest talents since Steve McNair and turned him in to nothing more than a mediocre QB.... You shouldn't be worried about Bruce or Doug you should be worried about Kent and Bags of ice (the ice is for your coaches eye). We lost to a D-1 school, however last years you all were skull dragged, annihilated, obliterated and laid to rest like the fake Tigers that you are by Southern Miss. So, how can you say anything to me??? And just some more facts we are winning in both categories KO? and Win.

One question, we are talking about GSU loosing to a D-1 school right... Blue, how can you open your mouth when you all lost about 2 or 3 homecomings straight to a D-1 AA school (Nic. St). And that was under the leadership of the "Never Will Be? legendary coach Pete Richardson. I know what the problem is all of you are furious because ya'll aren't GSU... Well don't be mad at us, be mad at yourselves and your parents for sending you to those inferior schools...

I must agree. I wanted Gram to win so bad, but after I saw the play calling and how Brugene was executing on his throws I knew that Gram was in trouble. I was hoping that Doug would adjust before going into the locker room to pick up the blitz (even though SJSU basically stop blitzing after the 1st half when they say Brugene couldnt hit a wide open receiver). But from what I saw, SJSU's team isnt that good. They just executed on their traps, draws, and bubble screens. They never really went deep down field. Their linemen just held their blocks long enough to let the back spring through open holes that my grandmomma could have gotten through. No matter how you all spin it, SJSU's team isnt good. They just have a fast scat back and very quick WRs and DBs. The key to this game was "EXECUTION".

Kent, is better than Bruce. Why would I make a statement like this: Well first of all, I have seen both of them play. I saw Bruce Eugene last year, and last Saturday and he did not impress me. SJSU did not have the best team in Division 1A. He is too fat and slow. He needs to lift weights, run, and go on a very strict diet. He is big enough to move the ball better than he does but his body is not conditioned. I saw him run one outside route against SJSU and after that he couldn't even get his feet planted to throw a decent pass. If he get his body in tact he could probably be just as good as Kent. And on the other hand, Bruce, should be twice as good as Kent, because he is coached by a Head Coach that has won the Superbowl, and also played quarterback in college, and on the professional level. Kent, on the other hand hasn't had the best coaches for the last three years, but he is still more mobile and his arm is stronger. Kent took a beating last year and still finished with an impressive season. If Hughes would have had sense enough to hire a well-trained offensive coordinator, and a good quarterback coach, Kent would have been awesome. Kent will go pro if he can stay healthy this year.

I wont even mention what school I go to because I dont even want you to realize how big of a dumbass you've made yourself out to be by making assumptions. Just because a D-IA school wants your coach doesnt mean his playcalling against SJSU wasn't ishtty, because everyone that saw that game on TV knows it was. And just for the record, what D-IA's want your coach? I can remember him interviewing for a job and being turned down.

How about the fact that we scored 19 points on a real d1a school and that had it not been for two unforced turnovers while threating to score we really had a chance to win?
How about the fact that three schools in their own conf. who are ranked higher didn't accomplish that not even the conf. champs? Btw they beat two of them.
How about the fact that we gain 427 total yards as oppose to Hawaii's 429?
How about the fact we lost by the same margin as a d1a bowl eligible team?
How about the fact that's what you call really competing out of your division?

No hate or smack intended.... Gram is still a long way from D-1. We can all be blinded sometimes by streaks of success, but I haven't forgot the state of things over in northern Louisiana just a few years ago...as the Tigers got 50 and 60 points dropped on them every week. Now it is true that Doug has turned the program back around, but it's safe to say that whenever someone talks about moving up to 1-A the off-field situation weighs much heavier than on-field. What i'm saying is basically Grambling's on-field success would not hardly over-ride the state of things in their program when being looked at for a move up....as is the case in most HBCU programs.

Excuse me, when you all played Loiusviile, a couple of years ago, how many points did you all score. ZERO. nuff said . Don't try to bring lineage into the equation either because there is no corelation between that and your below zero football I.Q. Everybody is in the game until the end of the fourth quarter. And BOY don't you EVER try to threaten some one when you fresh on the set. But it is obvious as H@LL you don't know no better. You don't know me or what I have dealt with. And believe you me, your imagination could not conceive other people's experiences. So run yo mouth all you want, but make sure that you have some toilet paper handy for sh@t that its splattering out of it. You have not made one valid point yet. Try to develop a more broader perspective on hbcu athletics because it is evident that you don't realize outside of the south, know one really cares about the division status of our sports. So when our schools make that commitment, it is their sole responsibilty to become successful. And if you don't like our comments, create your on SWAC board, PUNK. Folks always try to pretend like they so HARD.
