"Bradley advised the officer that the trailer he was hauling had been sold and he was transporting the trailer from Schaller, Iowa, to Brownsville, Texas," on the border with Mexico, the federal criminal complaint says. "Bradley stated he was unaware of the contents and/or cargo."

It wasn't until Bradley parked his tractor-trailer and went outside to urinate that he heard movements in the trailer, the driver told investigators.

"Bradley said he went to open the doors and was surprised when he was run over by 'Spanish' people and knocked to the ground," the complaint states.

"Bradley said he then noticed bodies just lying on the floor like meat. Bradley said he knew at least one of them was dead. Bradley said he knew the trailer refrigeration system didn't work and that the 4 vent holes were probably clogged up."

But the driver didn't call 911, authorities said. Instead, he went back to the tractor and called his wife.

Ok I have never drove trucks but if you are hauling a load and you know the truck is not empty do you still routinely check the contents? His story is hard to believe....
 
That is a crazy business practice if so. I'll bet he's been told to just haul, not look at the cargo or they might have a problem...no way would I just haul though. He's going to jail, a felon...cause he didn't look. I'm sure he was compensated nicely though before he hauled.

Same scenario in 2003 I think it was in or near Victoria, Texas I believe. Only difference is I think the refrigeration unit did work on this trailer....the dumb butt just did not turn it on. The driver was Black in this instance as well.

Yep. and got 19 life sentences. Craig Washington represented him. It was a death penalty case. He's gonna die in jail all for only $7500.

It was a no win case to begin with. I'm not sure just how Craig's reputation got tarnished, but any lawyer that gets a prisoner in Texas acquitted in a murder case, for killing the prison warden and another prison employee, probably isn't all that bad of a lawyer.

I don't think you can blame this on the media. That man should have checked the contents in that trailer. That was just dumb. Or maybe he checked but didn't care what was in it.

That's the main thing you are supposed to do before hitting the road. As someone said, that quick come up money will get you every time smh
 
When I lived in Northwest Arkansas there was this Hispanic guy from Mexico who worked for a lawn service. He would send money back to Mexico. Well when the cold season hits he would go back to Mexico. When it started getting back warm his boss in America would wire him $2500. He said that $2500 would get him anywhere in America illegally.

When he was in DC is how it got tarnished. LOL. Remember the scandal he had. Renting his office from his ex wife or something and the not showing up for votes in House. He was absent a lot. That's how Sheila Lee was able to get his spot.

Plus he has had his law license suspended for professional conduct violations. LOL. He has had a couple of gun incidents. The list goes on. LOL
 
Truckers....of you were told that you had an empty truck...would you drive damn near cross country and not check it?

Sheila got his spot with the help of the repub out of Sugarland and his buddies.

You kidding me, Tom Delay? LOL. Man, Craig killed his own chances being stand offish to the community he came from. Plus Barbara Jordan was not a fan of his before she died. She was dismayed he didn't live up to her and Mickey Leland legacy. Craig opposed a lot of projects that would benefit the Houston area and started acting aloof. Ironically Sheila time is probably needing to come to an end too. LOL.

All of what you say may very well be true but that does not negate the fact that Sheila's rise to the House of Representatives was aided by Delay and his cronies. Your being able to call his name (and I could not remember his name) lends validity to my assertion. Sheila could not have unseated Craig without the help of Delay and crew AND since she had the aid of Delay and crew what was their motivation? Could it be Craig was a thorn in their side?

She beat him handily. I remember all the folks in the neighborhood having issues with Craig and the way he was doing stuff. How does Delay come into an all black district and help Sheila? I never heard this one. I was living in Houston during the time. I remember black folks being pissed off with Craig and his seemingly hooking up folks in his circle mentality. So essence the black community turned against him. I think even Minister Muhammad from the Mosque in Houston backed Sheila. So she had plenty of black support. Delay was too busy trying to keep them folks off his back in SugarLand. LOL. Craig messed up when they showed how many times he was absent for votes in the House for stuff that would benefit his own community. He had some shady stuff going on man. I remember it like yesterday. If he is a personal friend of yours, then I understand your position. Just saying how it was. Heck we were talking about in my Masonic Lodge back then in Houston. It was ugly. And my lodge is in his old district. Folks were not happy man.
