~sigh~.....I was glad to see my folks out on the field.....it's just too bad I didn't like a lot of the stuff they did when they got out there. I don't make excuses when we lose, but Lord, it seems like we're down before we can even get up. One of our 3 QBs will already be out due to his hamstring (he wasn't in practice when he hurt it) and one of our star defensive players more than likely won't even play due to his heart condition (good call by Coach Coleman). We (UAPB) don't take our opponents lightly, but it would be nice if we had some game film on Langston prior to the game; all we had was their record last year (6 wins - 4 losses), but I guess that should have been our que to toughen up.
I told BH123 I saw our defense of old (AWESOME) this past Saturday, but I also saw our offense of old (TERRIBLE) too. We definitely need to work the offense. We have depth on both sides of the ball, but as for offense, we have quite a lot of depth in WRs, RBs, TE, half back and full back. There is no reason why we can't have an offense capable of the spread. We have to work on knowing when to run, pass, throw the ball. Since Coach Coleman is calling the shots on defense, I'm pretty happy. He was a wonderful defensive coordinator for us; he knows a little something about defense.
BUT if we continue to play like we did this past Saturday, it's gonna be a long, long, long, long, long season!
Andrews didn't surprise me, because I knew he was good from him destroying us last year, that still doesn't excuse some fo the blown coverages we have especially that first td he got. More than anything with Jenkins I was impressed with his poise and ability to escape pressure and still look to pass while scrambling. I still think Dominguez is the better pure passer.
What I Thought.....The MEAC has the SWAC's Number. I'm Out.

When we did, they ran completely over our dline. They are huge JayRob. Even the center is over 320.SU should've used it's quickness on defense and put eight or nine in the box to stop the run. Based on watching them last year, Tenn. State has a pathetic passing game. You stop their run, you beat 'em easily.
Listened to ASU and Grambling and watching it too.... I owe Grambling an appology.... they are a solid team... All yall Alcorn fans better wake up and smell that coffee.... Got work to do...
lol Shut up! It has been used but I get tired of hearing about people are so much bigger. Yes, TnSU was bigger which is why they were called for holding a lot. Stump cannot make excuses, once he get those players back he need to get to work.Sounds like that new weight room isn't being used.
Valley's QB does remind you of Air Canada. Yall self-imploded in the 2nd half, but regardless of the score I personally think yall will surprise teams this year. I don't think Bama State could have picked a better opponent to start the year off. Yall tried any and everything out there on the field to win the game, but we adjusted well in the 2nd half. If I was any team in the SWAC this year, I wouldn't take Valley lightly. (and I mean it).....
Those darn refs. they always be trippingMan kill that noise. We dominated Hampton on offense. Sorry refs caused us the game.
and your point? the title of the thread asked for your opinion on what u saw and i answered.
My point was we all saw your team and even if they look better than last year that's not saying much about the team. They got thrashed by a rebuild bama State. At least Mississippi State winning..
didn't that same Bama St team beat ya'll last year???
I attribute the low score to the weather and not the talent of both teams. I think Alcorn played the same way they would have played had it been dry..... They have good size though...Dude think about what you said. GSU was a solid team but Alcorn needs to wake up and smell the coffee? If that the case the score should have resembled JSU vs Concordia. No one is on here think Alcorn is going undefeated other than Braveheart123, he doesn't really count. Alcorn will be alright. Other than #15 on defense, overall they really suprised Gram.
JSU needs an offensive line like a deadman need a coffin.... The score of that game can be a lie if u just open the paper....
...
Well there u go... U just said it all...

Su has a very young team.... I think Stump will come full circle in his 3rd season that will warrant him a contract extension...
Stump don't need to focus on a 3rd season. If he don't win 6 or more games, then some actions will be taken. 3-8 nope. 4-7, nope. 5-6 maybe.
Well, in my opinion I think Stump will step down. I heard he tried to go back to the NFL but something did not work out. Those folks on facebook are fed up with him and Saturday, Stump have to win. Those people are going to run him away.Serious question, no smack, so don't get to calling me stupid (because we all know you can blow a head gasket or two), Can SU afford to pay another coach on top of his salary? I didn't go to the game but his overall body of work he has not proved anything. I wonder if Pete was still in charge would he have the same record? What is Stump doing differently than what succesful Jag coaches done in the past?
I would imagine that Stump would try to take a NFL job before getting fired.
