And then this chick admits, on camera, to being a single mother with 6 kids.

If this was not staged, it's definitely a HEAVY exploitation, and the mother willfully played her role in the exploitation.

You hit the nail on its head. IMO, other people that watched the news video, probably think it was funny. I'm sure they are making some type of music video to go along with her actions. The sad part, the media has made her an instant role model for other Black mothers when no one knows the exact details between her and her son's relationship. It is the same narrative, which is "poor Black mother trying to save her animalistic behavior Black male child from destroying himself". When CNN repeatedly shows that video of her, it gives White people and the police another justifiable reason why they have to kill Black men. Basically, if Black men can't listen to their mothers, then they have no other alternative but to shoot and kill them.

It's definitely WHITE SUPREMACY on all levels. Like CT previously stated, too many of us are living out that fake Willie Lynch document and don't even know it.

No one wants to deal with these questions because they just might be the solutions in fixing the problems that are causing the social fabric of the Black family to be ripped apart.

I also think that had he been acting up at school and she showed up to his school and did the exact same thing she would be in jail right now and he and his siblings would be in CPS custody.
 
Where I'm from it was very common for mom/dad to show up in front of your friends and whoop yo ass if they thought it necessary. Don't get brand new and act like this stuff never happens, just because cameras are rolling. Don't get brand new and act like one child of several can't disobey or do something they got no business doing. That kid could be the best son in the world that decided he's just gonna go against mom this time to support the cause. Mom reacted. As a parent of 3, I know that they ain't all the same. I have to stay on one more than the others. As for sphis question, I brought up the same issue in a FB status. If the riot wasn't going on that lady would be vilified, regardless of what her son had done.
 
Everyone is gonna have their opinion on the mother's actions. I believe she was acting on maternal instincts in attempting to get her son away from a very volatile and potentially dangerous situation. That is understandable.

However, all this conjecture about her relationship with her son, her son's father, the number of children she has, her motivation for confronting her son, this wayward rant on single mothers just oozes in mansplaning woman hatred.

Don Lemon is loving this. I'm sure he would do the same thing if he was that young man's mother. CNN knew exactly what they were doing when they hired him.

I see where you're getting at, but not quite.

It would be different if she didn't haul off and slap the boy in the face.
 
I saw a video of a wheelchair bound father hitting his 13 yo daughter in the head and face with a belt for being "fast" I believe azz whoppings have their place but a father shouldn't hit his teenage daughter in the face and head to teach a life lesson that a Real woman should be teaching her in the first place. Are we the only species where our offspring are taught by the opposite gender?
 



I guess the best way to ignore the root causes of any incident is by watching that incident play out over and over again. No need for discussion on why the incident happen in the first place.

Because some spots on the body are reserved for correction.

The face is not one of them.

Most parents' natural reaction is to hit their child on the rear end. Not in the face.

When you open-hand slap your nearly-grown offspring in the face, you open yourself up to any and all criticism you get.

Only in the black community is it OK to slap (SLAP) your child in the face like a stranger that ran up on you in the night.

And we wonder why these boys turn so violent and run to the gangs and crack dealers for love and opportunity. You've set the tone for them by seeding violence into their brain.

This mother of 6 did what she had to do to prevent her son from rioting in Baltiomore MD. This fund is to show our appreciation for her decision and to ease any burden. "He gave me eye contact. And at that point, you know, not even thinking about cameras or anything like that. That's my only son and at the end of the day I don't want him to be a Freddie Gray," Toya Graham said, referencing the 25-year-old man who died after mysteriously sustaining severe spinal injuries in police custody earlier in the month. His death has sparked protests throughout the city of Baltimore MD.
