That has nothing to do with my statement. My statement is concerning your remarks trying to criticize SWAC fans and schools. I am merely showing that SWAC fans are no different than fans of SEC and Big 12 schools. You will not go to their message boards or football stadiums and hear them say, "Our coach went 3-9, but hey our team APR is 950, let's give him an extension." Academics are important, but APR ratings is not what fans pack stadiums for. They'll be glad to show that they achieved a good APR score and move on. They brag about winning championships, having good fan support and attendance, and having players get drafted or graduate. That isn't any different than what our fans on here do.

But if it will make you feel better, replace SEC and Big 12 with Idaho and Eastern Michigan who are both definitely closer to FCS status than us to Division II status.

Not the same. We are holding on for dear life. The state of the SWAC is horrible right now. The SEC and Big 12 fans not only support their schools by buying tickets, they put heat on their athletic departments to make sure their teams don't have APR issues and can play in Bowl Games. They don't beg their commissioner and conference officials to let non academic qualified teams participate in tournaments. What we have been doing these days is a disgrace.


Ya'll go ahead and party without me. I am too busy begging our officials to clean this conference up and expand the conference in the South.

What proof do you have that can justify that Tuskegee has a bunch of dummies on their teams. What makes you believe that they will have APR issues?

I agree with the highlighted part that it is a disgrace to allow teams to participate in post season play if it was already agreed upon NOT to allow them to play.

My question to you is how do you know SEC schools never lobbied their commissioner to allow non-academic qualified schools to participate when SEC schools have never been banned from post-season play due to APR issues to begin with?
 
If I was TnSU's administration, I would seriously look at the numbers below as a factor of staying in the OVC.

It didn't look like it came from ticket revenue when I clicked on them. Maybe the Alcorn fans can give some insight. Nevermind, I see it came from the school giving them over $2 million more in funding.

TnSU could probably easily double their ticket sales revenue if they were in the SWAC.
 



Those numbers can't be right. Grambling hasn't come close to averaging 12,000 per game yet their ticket sales are higher than Bama State's and JSU's? Something else apart from ticket sales had to be added in at Grambling.

It's based on a 9 year period and I do believe they are counting ticket sales revenue from classic games. Grambling probably played more classic games then any HBCU over that 9 year period.

Those classic games still wouldn't have put Grambling over the top unless they were getting 500,000 per game. Those numbers still don't seem accurate. Threre has to be more to it.

500,000 what per game??? If Grambling can play 3 to 4 classic games per season, with each classic game generating $250k in ticket sales for each team, then that would be $750k to $1 million generated per year in classic games for Grambling, which does not include their regular season home games.

It seems like the Alcorn increased their athletic revenue by taking $2,900,634 from its School Funds.
