Work on your histroy and tradition, and stop worrying about Grambling's band. If you guys spent half as much time correcting your own shii as you do on Grambling, nevermind.
 



Good job GSU!!!! Spears was one of the most classless coaches ever to coach college football. It served GSU well to bring in a coach with class and dignity.

That muthafugga may have been classless and I didn't like how he hammered our sorry asses the first year he coached but I will say this. <b>I'd <u>LOVE</u> to have this man as a head coach @ PVAMU</b> because of his WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN attitude! </b> Now, he and his staff may NOT be able to coach (from what I hear from GSU peeps) but I STILL LOVE and RESPECT his attitude!

#2, as for the run... Yeah. We controlled the clock alright. We controlled the clock so bad until we lost 4 games by 3 pts. :retard: Fugg that. Time to abandon that ship James Bell. We need to GO downfield and RECRUIT a REAL QB and some REAL O-linemen/D-linemen/WRs/RBs/punter/kicker. :mad:

#3, IF we should EVER go up on a team, I know Spears will run the score up until the clock strikes 00:00 in the 4th quarter. We need some payback around this purple/gold beyotch! :mad:

#4, he'd hire an O-coordinator instead of this experimental BULLSH!T we've been witnessing over the last 3 years. :retard: We don't have VINCE YOUNG @ QB so why the FUGG you dumb muthafuggas EXPERIMENTING w/ an OFFENSE that was DESIGNED FOR HIM and SHOWCASING HIM? DUMB! :mad:

#5, he'll go around and TALK to alums in remote cities! And, he KNOWS how/who to recruit.

I guess you didin't see the documentary at halftime of the SCG. It only highlighted the 3 best bands in the SWAC, HINT! the ocean that stole was not in there.

I understand Panth. Just find someone else with that kind of attitude, but with more class and knows their X's and O's. Spear's X's and O's was Brugene. That is why they're 3-9 now.

How in the hell do you come up with this. We beat the isht outta Ala State and had AAMU beat in Crews til we gave away the game in the 4th quarter.
 
Spears, like a lot of good coordinators isn't a head coach, but if I'm a head coach in need of a offensive coordinator, I'd have Melvin Spears' phone ringing before he got off of GSU's campus.

Who knows, with the right seasoning Spears may someday be a great coach, but right now, being a great OC will have to do. Say what you will about his head coaching abilities, but that playbook he has is a muthaphugga.

GRAMBLING, La. - Melvin Spears, the Grambling State coach for three seasons, was fired on Monday, school president Dr. Horace A. Judson announced.

Hired after the early-2004 resignation of Doug Williams, Spears won a Southwestern Athletic Conference title a year later but could manage just three wins last season.

Only months after being named interim coach, Spears also became embroiled in a resume scandal - which he later cleared up after finishing some necessary paperwork to get his master's degree.

Spears went 6-5 in his initial season, after losing record-setting quarterback Bruce Eugene to a knee injury in the opener, but rebounded upon Eugene's return with an 11-1 record in 2005. Last season, again without Eugene, GSU slumped to 3-8.

Offensive coordinator Sammy White will serve as interim coach. Judson said the search for the new coach will start immediately.

Should JSU hire Carl Roberts?
