GRAMBLING ? Grambling State University President Dr. Horace A. Judson announced today that Melvin Spears? tenure as head football coach has ended immediately.

?It is time to change the direction of Grambling?s football program. I appreciate the hard work Coach Spears put in as head football coach,? said Judson. ?This was a difficult decision, but I believe it is in the best interests of the University and the football program.?

Offensive coordinator Sammy White will serve as interim head football coach. President Judson said the search for the new head coach will start immediately with hopes of having the new coach in place by mid-January.

Maybe .............................But Ripsaw has not won anything, went 0-11 one year, and has fallen on his face everytime they have been picked to finish at the top of the SWAC East.

Spears............For better or worse as far as Gram is concerned, was not availiable for hire.
He is now.
He has won SWAC Championships and is an Alcorn Grad.

Last thing.......................And not to sound like a goul or a insensitive jack-arse...................But the Former President of Alcorn, RIP, was RIPSAW's last defense against the unemployment line. :nod:
