WALMART vs TARGET

A target will be opening up in my neck of the woods.(formerly Super Kmart)How popular is Target? I've only been a few times to the one on Siegen. I'm a big Walmart fan.(Oneal Lane)

Personally, I like Target. I think they are more popular in the midwest because that is where they started (the MN Timberwolves play in the Targetcenter). I would shop there all of the time when I lived in Houston. It was much easier to get into and out of than Wal-Mart.

Price wise, I think Wal-Mart has them beat. However, somethings are comparable and just wasn't worth the hassle of going to Wal-Mart.

I agree with Silentrage. Walmart has the best prices and best selection. Target is usually less crowded and sometimes you can find certain items if Walmart is temporarily out. Target seems to always have full shelves

We love Walmart because their grocery selection is better than Target.

Depending on your situation, both are pretty cool. If you are doing some serious shopping (groceries, electronics, and a lot of more stuff), then Walmart-Superceter is your place. If you don't feel like fooling with long lines and a bunch of folks, Target is your place.

Although Target may not have much of a selection as Walmart, I think they are more "upscale". Their clothes are actually pretty nice and their furniture is durable. They even sell CDs with profanity.

But the biggest difference between the two is the space in the aisles. Wal-Mart aisles are much narrower to accommodate more variety in (typically) smaller space.

I prefer Target over Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart has a "circus feel" to me. Always crowded and cluttered.

Unfortunately I'm forced to shop at wal-mart because the closest Target is on the opposite end of town form my home. :(

I definitely agree about the clothes. I've found some really good deals on clothes and the quality is always on point.

Well, you'll have to do a Teddy Pendergrass number (Come On Over to My Place). Move over to my side of town. It's the fastest growing!!

Yeah all of south and southeast BR is growing.

I'm really thinking of going north to Zachary. I've heard talk that Target may be locating out that way next.

I'm a TARGET FANATIC so they get my vote!!! :flippy:

Like Braveman12, I love the quality of their merchandise. I also like the variety of items they sell & the fact that they have the BEST sales and are always placing items on CLEARANCE(see most endcaps.) Their prices are ALWAYS reasonable & I love ordering online (they have merchandise that's not sold in stores.)

I used to be a Wal-Mart Queen but now, I only go to them when I need White Cloud toilet paper or if I want to see what they've got on sale.

Im a TARGET brother myself.

Walmart is too crowded for me. Target has nice clean aisles.

Target will never be able to compare to WALLY'S WORLD.... Wal Mart jumpin like the club 24 hours a day... If you are bored late at night/early in the morning... go to Wally's World and you can always find a fine woman there (especially if you are in a college city). Even when I was in Nashville at TSU, we use to be bored and go to Wal Mart at midnight and play touch football in the food aisles with a Nerf. We have about 3 or 4 Wal Marts on the same street in Huntsville.... and about 3 more that arent on that street. We opened up a Target RIGHT across the street from one of the Super Wal Marts and it is ALWAYS EMPTY. I would grocery shop at Super Wal Mart first because they are cheaper.... I dont know about clothes because the only thing I buy from Wal Mart (clothes wise) is wife beaters, socks and boxers.

For about a year I have been heading to Target more than Walmart. I hardly walk into a Walmart now.

At Target you can buy CD's that are not censored. Targets are all over Little Rock and they have some nice crowds but not nearly as crowded as the WalMart Supercenters. The Supercenter in Pine Bluff have the finest sistah's as cashiers and clerks  :D :angel2: !

Target has better quality overall, wider aisles, a cleaner store, and stocked shelves. Wal-mart has less expensive prices. However, I'll pay the little extra sometime when I need the quietness that does not exist where our cousins are running around at.

Like Fort said, Target always has great clearance sales.
