Right before half-time, I just got in from my son's baseball game. I saw the score and I won't lie, I said, JSU has a chance.

Well, they've since done the switch for more competitive games, but, if UF scores 3 more points before JSU, it will be a 30 point lead.

No matter the outcome, JSU, keep your heads up and give it your all.

DSN, go easy on our Swac brethren and sisteren...(Nita, is that a word?).

......Carry On.....

Shat.................My head up so high I got a nose bleed.:D
Proud of them. :smash:
Just got back from my looooooooong lunch.
I finally saw what's going on.
They putting 2 and 3 guy's trapping TREY everytime the ball comes his way.

It's all good though.:D

Jackson State left it on the court and played hard and smart. Florida was just has WAY too much talent to stay close to them.

I think I would have done the same thing. All everyone has been hearing about is Trey. So, the chances were pretty good that
they would key on him, which means someone else was gonna have to step up for them to win. You know how it goes....
take 'em out at the head, and the rest will follow. Still, JSU gave it their all, it just was not enough tonight.

Great season JSU, and congrats on your SWAC Tourney Championship and trip to the dance...

Say what you want but we came to play tonight. Floriday just got about 6-7 treys on the court. It's like LA trying to beat Dallas just not enough guns.

I'm proud that JSU won the SWAC, but the conference still has a long way to go to compete with the major programs.

The rebounds killed us. We could not get ANY!! The shooting could have been better if we could got some rebounds amd made some easy baskets.

But yep, they left it on the floor. That's that JSU heart!!! You gotta be born with that!!

I hope this puts an end to the question of if it's the coaches or the players. coach anderson had these guys ready to play and they represented well. but when your 6'8 200 lb post players have to guard their 6'9, 6'10, 6'11 250 pound post your gonna lose that battle. jsu got dominated, and I mean dominated, on the glass. not that they didn't put forth effort, play smart, and box out but florida was just too big and deep inside. they got every rebound and had 2 and 3 opportunities each time down court. that had nothing to do with coaching. that's just not having the players you need to compete and win. you put southerns 2 post from last season on this team and floridas looking like duke did last year against SU.....vunerable.

you need bigs to win and the swac has none save gladdness at aamu, and he's strictly defense. i keep hearing the swac is a guard conference but funny our guards aren't better than anyone elses, but we have no post players in the entire league. we've got small forwards playing center in this conferece.lol.

Add quickness and athleticism to that size.

Anyway, despite the second half I think that Florida can be had in this tournament.

Yeah, their guys were big plus quick and athletic BUT our small guys are quick and athletic too. While that's important, we really just don't have the size and our only big man (Turner) is not on the level of those big men from Florida.

I just went to the website posted in this thread to see the highlights....and they made it look like total domination from start to finish. They did not show ONE Jackson State basket....all they showed was FL dunking all over us, etc...:smash:

It depends on whether or not the team has Floridas undivided attention. We got the Gators undivided attention in the second half and got run out of the gym. I suspect that would happen to each of the 64 teams in the field.

UF is not that good. The refs helped them out the first half. JSU got in their heads. Did you see how frustrated them UF boys were. The only thing that saved them was they kept their players fresh by bringing them back and forth off the bench in the first half. If JSU had went into the half with a lead UF would have been done mentally.

Co-Sigining....
But you do have to have the fact that the Bigger schools are the ones that are landing the stars that the MEAC and SWAC needs to progress.......

SEC, ACC, PAC-10 are getting their TV time............

It is forget the MEAC and SWAC...They are small potatoes and need little TV coverage for exsposure.................
