Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?

My lady and I went to the Matinee in the Mall today. It was packed with "us" in there and a few "vanillas" there too. Lots of talkin' and cell phones ringin' when the preview screen showed several times, "Please silence your phones during the movie." I was mad as......!!!! But, what's worse was the scene at the table. There was a lady just talkin' loud over the movie, and all of a sudden, 2 whites, a guy and a woman stormed out of the front of the theater bringin' in light into the theater. I just knew it was about to get "ugly!" The white guy came back into the theater with the usher and the usher escorted the lady and her family were escorted out of the movie. The lady was crying loud, but she deserved it....When will we learn!!!!!
Po baby. That's why you go to the 1st matinee on Sunday cause a few of us will still be at "chuch."

Tyler Perry looks awkward trying to get some pu&&y.

I, as a Black person, have learned to go to the MATINEE, cause the RAUNCHIES and HYENAS attend the late show. :D I'm checking this movie out tomorrow while WE still at church! :quiet:

I feel that one. We went around 7 pm show and all the knuckle heads (high school kids) were waiting for the 930 pm show.

Really enjoyed the movie!

 For Tyler, Janet and Jill and the entire cast.

I only go to the early showing, it does not matter what movie.

My wife and I went to the Theatre in Union Station in D.C. I thought there would be a civilized crowd there, but I guess I thought wrong.

Union Station near Howard? Negro iz you crazy.
You should have just stayed in PGC for all that mess with "our people".

Tell me about it! I've only been there one time before to see a movie and the crowd was mixed so people weren't talking. I usually go to the Arundel Mills movie theater.

:topic: Team, I got your message! I will hit you up this evening! For some reason, I don't get the message on my phone regularly. I may get the message days after someone has left a message.

I like how he threw in the part about "The great thing about attending an HBCU is that you get to meet some of the most interesting people in the world". Great job!!!

Cee, I guess I missed that part because of US talking during the movie! Damn, I will have to buy the DVD when it comes out to hear and see the movie in it's entirety

WOW....I was coming in here to say great movie and complain about Rave theatres but I see there are numerous complaints about rowdy people in the movie.

My wife and I did not experience that. Actually I was going to complain because prior to the movie starting an usher came in...introduced himself....and made an announcement about turning off cell phones and not talking during the movie or using your phone and then asked if anyone had questions. Someone asked "do you do this for ALL of your shows?" which I appreciated because the wife and I were kinda offended.

We have sat in many movies where white folk don't shut up and talk on the cell phone. They let their kids run around and point laser pointers on the screen. I hate it when we as a race get singled out for doing the same things and lo and behold I come in here and it looks like we are pointing the finger solely at ourselves again. I don't agree with that crap in movies from any race and they ALL do it.

As for the movie...now thats what I'm talking about. Leave TV alone and put out movies like this. As for Janet I was skeptical as to whether that was supposed to be a part of her character or if she just couldn't act lol. Somebody needs to tell her where to look when she acts lol.

I saw the movie over the weekend, and I enjoyed it. I thought that among other things, the movie was very well "shot". By that I mean the cinematography, the scenery, and the locations were beautiful. I liked all of the close-up shot, and the artsy camera angles that they used. It looked as though they spent a lot of money on this movie.

But in addition to the technical points of the movie, I thought that the movie was well-written, and done with a certain amount of class. I'm glad that even though there was strong language, there was no graphic and gratuitous sex - you don't need that in a family movie. This is a movie that I wouldn't mind watching with my mother, or family, unlike the movie Soul Food, which was a good movie, but had a few graphic sex scenes that added nothing to the movie and could easily have been left out.

Two thumbs up for Tyler Perry, on this one.  I just might go see it again.

One more thing. I saw this movie at a Rave theatre here in Montgomery, and the audience was perfectly quiet and respectful throughout the entire movie.

Jill Scott acted her @$$ off!!! She was the heart of the movie!

Janet....*-sigh-* She played the role she had, which was supposed to be wooden and stiff...until she finally broke. Her character is a psychologist.

The "ghetto" couple were so on point!!! I knew that whenever "ghetto gal" said something, the rest of the scene was gonna be lost cuz she said what every woman in the theater was thinking. :kaioken:

Overall, it was a great movie! There were "foul characters" of both genders, which made the movie worth watching for me.

GREAT movie! Laughed AND cried. I don?t wanna give it away for those who haven?t seen it yet. But that Angela was sho nuff saying what we were all thinking! How many times did she say HELL NAW! Woo, hilarious stuff! And Jill was excellent. Something about her eyes the way she can play pity, good stuff. Like everyone else, watching Janet was uncomfortable because I?m just not used to her saying much and when she does it?s so soft and barely above a whisper. She kinda sounds like she?s always whining. But overall good job. I actually like her with her hair pulled back, though.

I AM IN LOVE WITH SHERRIF TROY!

 I caught that too.

TP - did a good job in capturing working black professional people.

We saw it on Sunday during the day and enjoyed it. Only 2 cell phones rang, and there wasn't any talking that I noticed.

I think Terrence Howard could have been a more sinister "Mike" in the movie...although ol' boy pulled it off even though he was more comical.
