True Bonding of Bands PV/SU Story

On this past Saturday night, despite arguments and misunderstandings that went on, I would like all of you to know that the time spent with the Zeta Nu chapter of KKPsi at Southern and other schools and Tau Beta Sigma was a very special moment.
For those of you who weren't there, the bruhs from Southern came over to our side and Prof allowed us all to meet up under the bleachers. From that point all you could see was hugging, stepping, smiling, hearing hey frat, what's up soror, and just feeling a whole bunch of love between both schools.
The bruhs from Southern presented our bruhs with a board that had both chapters on it.
That motion goes to show that there is always sunshine after the storm. I honestly feel that is a new beginning for both schools. This is a start of a good relationship between both bands.
I just hope and pray that we all learn from this experience and can utilize it in our everyday lives, becuase I know that I will.

I love Yall Frat and Sorors

see this is the type of post that should get all the hits....what happen in the past was a bad blow to both bands..i commend both schools for making this happen. 2 of the best bands in the conference should not play every other year.

Well, Im personally glad to see more and more PV reps finally get over it. The people that were in SU's band left years ago....so, it's been dropped on that side.

Too bad it took the Psi to come back to SU to make some people realize that it's been done with. But, then again.....that's what the Psi's for, right?

Good job to both bands.

Good post Nat.....Glad to hear you all got to hang for a moment, hell we all are human....

Just hope that grows the relationship between the bands.....

man i was in that mess in 98 and i knew we were playing every other year as it is because we never went to mumford. my family in baton rouge use to be like yall don't bring anyone to the game when we play yall. so to see us meet up this past weekend really almost made me :bawling: lol naw i was just happy to hear SU out side a dome. and this is just my opinion SU bones and tones are more balanced than the 96 edition..lol and i have never seen a trumpet section better than SU 96.

Hopefully this will spread throughout the swac

S.U. sounded good at the game

Yeah LJ is still in Houston. He works for Allstate Ins. Derrick I have been all on the Phi Mu A. website for SU , trying to get in touch with you look out for a P.m. from me.

:D :D At the game Saturday night in Shreveport, it should have went the same way in 98'. But I ain't here to bring up past stuff......I just wanna say that it was a beautiful thing.....S.U. coming to our side and us P.V. going to their side......I would even give their crowd an "A+" on their behavior.......No spitting on us or rocks thrown or nuffin ......I am shocked......I expected worst from them

I don't know why everyone was expecting hostilty from SU. The guys that were in the band then are long gone, and even the year after it happened two thirds of the band was gone. I t was jus t a simple missunderstanding on the part of both bands. I was there and I know exactly what happened. I played Tuba and we were in the middle and that is where everthing started. I believe our crowd was the guilty party. They was tring to pump up the whole thing. After I watched that tape for the millionth time I realized the crod was saying stuff to them before the altercation began. So they (PV) were probably super agged before we finished with our dance routine.

:redhot: :redhot: :redhot: And I was there too, SU Tuba 96'. I was on the side that it popped off........I was lined up on the 40 yard line on that side and let me tell you that we have never cared what the heck any school's crowd says to us so lets set the record straight.....But get this........As with any band in this world there is a code not to break ranks of another and I saw with my own eyes from the 40 yard line that drum major of yours just march all through the 14K......Purposely kneeing our tubas as he marched............That's enuff from me.....I'm gettin fired:redhot: :redhot: up again that the blame continues to be us......

We (SU) don't break ranks......But we did need to get off the field, and it seemed like PV was going no where....WE(SU) always march completely off the field before we "About Face" to the right.
We never had that problem.. All I drum major knew was he had to get us off the field...He is our leader, he made the choice that he only knew..And that was to march forward and hope you guys give us room to exit the field.....

So one marching threw your ranks is not tolerated no where...But if your ranks is clearly in the way of a band and there is no other way for that band to go, you as a band must be intellegent enough to move out of the way....Your DM should have been big enough of a man to move you all when he saw we were trying get off the field...

This is a case that would definitely get a hung jury......But we are sorry it had to happen....Lets keep moving forward....

One last note, how do you think some of us feel, to be made out to be animals, because they showed us (SU) dragging PV al across the TV...people got the interpretation that we came off the field with whooping arse on our minds.....

Once again lets just kill all of that and move ahead....It's been a done deal for us (SU).....

man let it go...dang nobody said we were going to forget about this but can we at least forgive and move on..i am not about to say who started it and all that but i know this needs to be put to rest. good luck and god bless to all bands this weekend.
