THE WORD LOVE AND WHAT WOULD YOU DO OR THINK

Have you ever been in love and was never told by your supposing to be mate that they LOVE YOU BACK???????

Example:

GUD: Ummm Mrs. Doubtfire I love you
Mrs. Doubtfire: Honey I care about you
GUD: (in back of my mind) what the fugg she mean she cares about me.

I think if you are seeing someone and it has been ongoing for at least a year or so then we both should be saying WE LOVE EACH OTHER....

Shouldn't be saying it if he/she doesn't mean it.
Just because you feel that way does not mean the other person feels the same way regardless of how many years or days you've been seeing each other. Years and time does not = love...only love=love. There are people that have been together in shorter length relationships that love each other more than people that have been together or known each other for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years.

Thus, the divorce rate.

Never been in a relationship where I didn't hear I love you back.

But I think a person should say it when they get ready and when it's REAL. If the two of you are not on the same page and you don't have the patience, move on. But you definitely don't want to be with someone who is just saying it because they feel pressured. That's a disaster waiting to happen.
Let things happen naturally.

I'll have to disagree with this just a little bit. If me and you ar going out and after six months I start telling you that I LOVE YOU AND YOU DON'T tell me then I could understand but if we have been together over a year and you DON"T THEN A RED FLAG should go up.

That I CARE ABOUT YOU mess is a recipe for disaster!!!!

I agree. I don't believe in making NOBODY say something to me if it doesn't come genuinely from them. Same thing with an apology. If they don't feel something within them to make them say it then, don't twist their arm to make them say it. It means more when it comes without expectation.

I'm not saying make them say shi* but at a certain point in that so called relationship don't we all expect to hear that from our mates???????

I agree. Just because you feel one way doesn't mean the other person must feel the same way at the same time...no matter how long you've been together. This can be with saying I love you or other things two people encounter...does he want to meet my parents before I say I want you to meet my parents...do I want to spend time with him and his child before he suggests that I spend time with him and his child...does he refer to me as his significant other and I only refer to him as my friend.........

Take note of it and respond accordingly.

GUD I can understand wanting to hear it from the other person when you've already said it. You want to feel like they are reciprocating your feelings. However, I have to agree with APW that time doesn't equal love. They may honestly care deeply about you, may even see themselves in love with you someday, but just don't feel that way at the time. We all fall in love at different rates and for different reasons. Respect their honesty and decide if you are willing to continue, or if you want to give up on the person you are in love with just because it took them a little bit longer to share your feelings.

Yes. We do have expections. Take note of when they don't meet your expectations and respond accordingly.

Yeah we all expect it and want to hear it, but just because one may have deeper feelings and say it before the other one sooner; doesn't mean the other person is onthat level at the time also. Regardless of the time frame be it 3 months or a year. Now if yuo are telling someone that you love them constantly and they don't tell you they love you back and it's been more than a year; then of course one would be disappointed and may even have some colorful words to share. :uhoh: But for real, if you've been through a lot with a person where yall have cried together, been there through thick and thin and have some true history; then surely there's some love somewhere...whether it's said or not. Some people love to hear the 3 words, some like to be shown and then there are some who want to hear it and see it.

Ok then why not just stay friends and you won't have to say I LOVE YOU!!!! But when you start telling me I cannot see other people and that is considering cheating would I be wrong to have a side kick??

I wouldn't want my man to say it to me, if he really doesn't mean it. Everyone doesn't fall in love at the same rate...some take longer for all sorts of reasons. It's a difference in loving someone and being IN LOVE w/them.

Because maybe she just wants to take this relationship slow. Don't rush things.
If you feel like she's dragging her feet too long, just let her go and make room for the person who wants what you want. Otherwise, just be patient.

Talk it out more and see where her head is. Has she been hurt before and wants to be cautious this time around? Does she see you as long-term? Stuff like that--- Talk!

I believe folks show LOVE in different ways not always saying it to one another. I don't mind saying it to a woman but only cause I really LOVE that woman and I MEAN IT. I tend to agree w/ LT on this apsect. I don't want no one just saying because they feel poked or just saying cause it sounds good.

STC does not need the constant I LOVE YOU's. It's cool but STC like to see LOVE demonstrated as the verb it truly is.

ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN ANY WORDS !!!!!

If you agreed to not see other people, then you would be wrong to have a "side kick". Don't make the agreement, if you want I love you said with it and that person isn't saying/showing they love you. Be honest with her and yourself about what you want and expect.

Howsoever, JSTUS would say it's easier to just stay friends. Then again, you still have to be honest with her and yourself about is that what you really want.

1. What if you knew they cheated on you??
2. They also lied on numerous occasion about there whereabouts.
3. What if you went out of town to hang out with some friends and you ran into them and they were supposign to be staying at a friends house and then you find out they stayed at a hotel for a weekend.......

well, sounds like you need to get rid of her if she's doing all that.

"I like you alot!!!!", "If I were in love, it would be with you!!!!" They just don't have any ring to 'em.

I am not in a REALTIONSHIP and this is not about me.... Trying to help out someone..

Well, whomever it is, is either incredibly stupid, or incredibly ambivalent to the obvious.

Hell, if she's doing all that, then the semantics are moot.

Actions speak louder than words.
