Home schooling is not that difficult. Yes, the kid is taking online classes OR you can create that consortium and teach in small groups--get 1 teacher and a group of kids so those who work, still can. What I see, is black folks esp get this gut reaction when they hear homeschooling. It's like to many-- my folks had that little one room school in the woods and we don't want to go backwards...but homeschooling appears to be WAY different. These kids are scoring off the charts! I think some need to work on interpersonal skills, but overall, they have book sense, common sense...just blunt and gruff to me.
I know this guy in my hometown did it with all his children. They got scholarships galore, played 3 or 4 instruments each, spoke a few languages.....and they never darkened the school's doors. I'm seeing more and more of my colleagues doing this and setting up these small group learning settings...and again, the kids are doing marvelously...

The interpersonal skills is concerning to me. I have had some interactions with some home schooled kids and you can tell that they have difficulty relating to kids who attend a conventional school.
