TGee,

We need to stop playing this card to justify Bad behavior.

TO has some serious issues. He has repeated the same patern in SF, Philly, now Dallas. He blows up the locker rooms, acts crazy with his coaches and teammates, thens gets on tv and acts all innocent. I would appreciate him more if he was just a full time A-hole.

BB send help!

Jim Crow still at work. Tell a man enough shii negative about himself he will believe it eventually. In San Fran - TO only told Jeff Garcia he was garbage. SF realized it also a year later. Philly - TO and McNabb fell out after McNabb didn't support his effort to return to play in the Super Bowl. Ninja don't allow the media to play you like a string instrunment.

Say Thames, Can a man take 35 pain killers and leave the hospital the next morning, practice with the team later that day, and then do a coherent interview???????????????????????????

Sometimes common sense should prevail....

Just proves my theory correct. When white America has a pick on you they will do what ever it takes to destroy you.

You can say that again.

Regardless of how people feel about T.O., this was irresponsible reporting. ESPN has been screwing up a lot lately with it's reckless journalism. I really don't think people understand how damaging the incorrect info can be. EVEN after it's retracted, the damage is done.

Blaming the media for this is a bunch of bullcrap. :smh: T.O. was rushed to the hospital and a local TV station got the police report and the alleged suicide attempt was in that report. So the media simply reported what the police were told. After ESPN and others started to report it, the Cowboys got T.O.'s people on the horn, (publicist and others), and said we have to put out this fire. They got the news conference together and T.O. said it was a big misunderstanding. But have you noticed it seems he has more of those than any other player I know? :retard: The man has problems and needs help.

Again.........................This ain't his fault that they jumped the gun.

You have an alergic reaction to medicine and see how much you can remember.:nod2:

If they had asked TO if he had just robbed a bank right then, he probably would have said yes.

News ain't news anymore.
It's about who can run the fastest on bullshat without checking it out.
Gotta be the first mug on TV breaking the story and when they get it wrong it's.........................OH WELL.

The funny part is people actually buy into this crap.
When TO is wrong...................He wrong.
When he ain't...................no need of casting him as the devil because of personal dislikes.

Exactly. There's very little professionalism in journalism anymore.

Late last night on sports talk radio in Dallas, they stated that earlier that day, he was upset that he couldn't see his son celebrate his 7th birthday and his fiancee suggested that they end their engagement. I can see how he could be depressed after all of that.

bless his heart...:(

When it's all said and done, it's the media's fault. They ran out half-cocked and reported T.O. tries to commit suicide, because it is a juicier story. When they actually find out the truth then they half-assed backtrack talking about it's always something with him, and never acknowledging the fact that they were wrong, and if they stopped overhyping everything in regards to him, it wouldn't be an issue.

Exactly. This is the best post on this whole thread.:nod2:

OK, I will open myself up to some criticism. But at about 7:30 Monday morning, I heard that he had an adverse reaction. It was over ESPN. Later, the report about the suicide attempt was released.

Last season and during the previous off-season I agreed with just about everything that Drew Rosenhaus (sp ??) said about NFL contracts. I think that the owners are getting over on the players and eventually ex-players. But I did not agree with how T.O. called out McNabb publicly last season. If he had a problem with Donovan, then he should have kept it in the lockerroom. Not only do I have a problem when a player goes to the press about a problem with a teammate, I have a BIG problem when a coach does it.

Anyway, if I was T.O., I would stop giving out interviews to members of the media. If he keeps giving interviews, they will be more likely to misinterpret at the very least his words. Let them guess. We all know that the media can misinterpret or twist someone's words.

He would get fined.

True, he could interview after games. But some athletes do not give one-on-one interviews during the week. Charles Haley of the Cowboys may have given them after a game but did not during the season give any during the week. Patrick Ewing did not give a lot of interviews at least to the national media for a long time while he was a Knick.

The media was simply reporting what was in the police report. If you want to blame someone blame the police for putting the alleged suicide attempt in the report. Believe it or not, most media outlets check and double check the facts because if they don't the reporter who wrote the story will be fired and the media outlet will face a huge lawsuit. Most media outlets are NOT in the business of making up news stories. And I find it funny that some of these athletes claim to be misunderstood and misquoted yet they file no libel or slander lawsuits against the media outlet they claim is the offender. I don't know T.O. personally and I don't dislike him as a person. But if anyone here thinks ESPN and other media outlets wake up each day saying "How can we get T.O. today?," then you are completely misunderstanding what goes on in the industry.
