So far it seems like the media blew up the situation once again. It was NOT a suicide attempt but an allergic reaction to the pills. He WILL be playing on Sunday. to the media.

ESPN is a bunch of beyotches... NFL network had been saying all day that it was not a suicide attempt but ESPN kept running with it.

Man .........................I told ya'll.

People need to quit taking ESPN stories and running with it.
He probably did tell the police "YES"....................But with TO, that yes was a joke to them and a way for TO to make the media look like they picking on him.

He got the upper hand now.
Anything else will be dismissed as media hype.
TO keeps pitching, and people keep swinging for the fences over nothing.:nod2:

y'all should have heard some of the things this white bytch said about him this a.m. at my job...it was so bad, she was called in the manager's office and told to STFU, or else. :smh:

T.O.: 'There was no suicide attempt'
03:30 PM CDT on Wednesday, September 27, 2006
From Staff Reports

Cowboys/NFL

T.O.: 'There was no suicide attempt'

Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens flatly denied Wednesday that he tried to commit suicide, explaining that he was groggy from taking a couple of painkillers.

?There was no suicide attempt,? Owens said during a packed news conference at the Cowboys? Valley Ranch headquarters.

Asked why he told Dallas police that he had tried to harm himself, Owens said, ?At this point, I really wasn?t as coherent as they probably thought I was. There was a number of people asking me a lot of questions.?

Owens said he left practice Tuesday and took some pain medication for his injured hand. He had placed some recently prescribed pain pills in a drawer, which may have led his publicist, Kim Etheredge, to draw the wrong conclusion when she found the empty bottle, he said.

?I think she felt like that I had taken all the pills. I was non-responsive,? he said. ?She made her call (to 911) out of her judgment, you know, as far as my well being.?

Owens said he was taking hydrocodone and a number of ?natural supplements.? According to drugs.com, hydrocodone relieves moderate to severe pain and is a drug related to codeine.

Owens also said he expected he would practice Thursday and could be ready to play at Tennessee on Sunday: ?I just finished working out outside and throwing with (quarterback) Drew (Bledsoe) ? and (backup quarterback Tony) Romo came out and threw with me. I feel very capable of going out there and playing on Sunday. That?s my main goal.?

Etheredge said she was upset that police had suggested Owens tried to take his life. She contends that the painkillers combined with the supplements that are part of his training regimen caused an allergic reaction.

?This is sad. Terrell had a reaction, and just to state that he was trying to commit suicide ? it?s unfair,? she said. ?Terrell has 25 million reasons why he should be alive.?

Etheredge said she called 911 because Owens appeared lethargic.

?Terrell was not coherent to speak,? she said. ?The reason I called 911 is because he was not in his normal responsive state. He had had a long day, came home and had some treatment. Again, he takes many supplements. He?s trying to get back on the field. ? He was in a lot of pain when he came home from work.?

Terrell Owens leaves his condominium early Wednesday afternoon. According to a Dallas Police Department report, Owens swallowed prescription pain medication Tuesday night in an apparent attempt to commit suicide.

The police report says the complainant, identified as Owens, ?stated that he was depressed? and that he had emptied a bottle of pain pills and was trying to harm himself, the report said.

Owens was admitted to Baylor University Medical Center and discharged later Wednesday morning, hospital spokeswoman Jana Pope said.

Both Etheredge and Owens denied that he told police he was depressed.

?I?m not depressed by any means. I?m very happy to be here,? the receiver said. ?I?ve come here to help the team get on a roll, get on track and get into the playoffs and win some ballgames.?

At his regularly scheduled meeting with reporters earlier in the day, an agitated coach Bill Parcells said he had not spoken to the star receiver, nor did he know anything about the trip to the hospital.

?When I find out what the hell is going on, you will know,? Parcells said. ?If this is what we're talking about, then you're talking to someone who really doesn't have the best working knowledge of the subject now, and when I get it I'll be happy to discuss it with you. But right now is not that time."

Parcells said he heard no complaints from Owens during practice Tuesday and did not know where the receiver was Wednesday. He said he was reluctant to call the situation ?a distraction.?

?It's apparently an unfortunate set of circumstances, and I'd rather be clear on what they are before I comment on the future,? he said.

Last week, according to Parcells, Owens had a reaction to the pain medicine he was given following surgery in which a plate was inserted into his right hand to stabilize a fractured fourth metacarpal. Parcells said Owens became ill and could not work out, but he was improved the next day.

On Wednesday, Parcells was asked if Owens? medication had been changed after he became ill. He responded that he was not qualified to answer.

"I'm just a coach," he said. "I'm trying to get this team ready to play Tennessee."

According to the police report, a woman who later was identified as Etheredge said Owens saw him put two pills in his mouth, and she tried to get them out. Etheredge said this was untrue.

When asked about Owens Wednesday afternoon, Bill Parcells said, "I can't give you information I don't have." She also said he had filled a prescription for 40 pills on Sept. 18, and taken only five through Tuesday, the report said.

Under questioning, Owens said he had taken the remainder of the prescription. He was described in the report as having ?ingested unknown large quantity of RX pain medication.?

Dallas police Lt. Rick Watson said Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics called police officers to a residence in the 3800 block of Commerce Street around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Dallas Fire-Rescue Lt. Joel Lavender said it is routine for medics to summon the police in circumstances where they believe someone is trying to harm himself.

Lt. Watson said medics determined Owens needed to be hospitalized and the officers followed the ambulance to the hospital. The police will not investigate the case further, he said.

"In the course of this, in our investigation, we have determined that at this time this is not a criminal offense," he said. "This is a medical type of situation.?

Owens has stated proudly that he took no pain-killing injections before Super Bowl XXXIX after coming back from a fractured fibula suffered seven weeks prior to the game against the Cowboys.

According to the NFL's substance abuse policy, "The illegal use of drugs and the abuse of prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs and alcohol is prohibited for players in the National Football League."

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league was "aware of the reports? about Owens? health.

?We are monitoring the situation and staying in close touch with the Cowboys," he said.

In a statement, Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said the organization was trying to learn more about Owens? medical condition, but their concerns were with the player?s ?health and well-being.?

?This is a medical issue related to an individual's personal health. When we have additional information on Terrell's condition as it relates to his playing status, we will share it with you," Dalrymple said.

On Tuesday, Owens did not speak with the media, but he appeared to be in good spirits.

He continued conditioning work on the side with associate trainer Britt Brown and caught passes. He was wearing gloves and had his ring and middle fingers on his right hand taped together.

I won't say White America because some T O haters are black. I will just say that people in the Big D are not worth a damn. When I heard the story this morning I was discussing it with my dad and I said that the story didn't make sense. Once again, I was proven correct.

That's what I just said, in my post dear...I know it's not just white folks.

You right not all, but 85% of them can't stand him just because of his skin.

Let me tell you how I feel about TO.

TO is a Drama Queen pure and simple. He has to be the center of attention both on and off the field. It is just a matter of time before the big Tuna shows him the door. He may be a great player, but he is also becoming a big distraction for his team. A lot of what he does is TO's own fault. The Cowboys should never have signed him in the first place. He is a cancer. A trainwreck waiting to happen. He'll ruin the Cowboys, the same as he did the Eagles if he stays around. The "White" media ain't got nothing to to with him being a "damm fool".

Man......................He had a bad reaction to some medicine.

How is that acting a damm fool.

Nobody told ESPN and a bunch of media types to make fools out of themselves reporting something that never happened.

This is the one time this is not TO's fault.

BTW: The Cowboy's was not an honor farm when they had the triplet's winning superbowl's for them.
It ain't like they have not had "cancer's" on their team before TO.

Here's a prime example right here, CEE and pv_symbiotic...this is similar to some of the things the white lady said at work this a.m....but she added some other statements, such as "that's good for him"..."too bad he wasn't successful"...and "I'm sure he's just strung out on drugs or he overdosed on some drugs...y'all know he's a drug addict"....:smh:

Now, I've heard some things about T.O. but I've NEVER heard he's on drugs...matter of factly, I've heard reports that his drug tests always come back clean. man, when they don't like you, they'll just make up stuff.

Now, I wonder how having a reaction to some meds, is a distraction? :xeye: hell, even Bill Parcells defended the man, when one of the reporters stated that. :shame:

What attention? The only attention that he has gotten, is what the media decide to report. There have been no incidents to report on T.O. except for an hamstring injury. Noone said jack about Hines Ward. He had the same injury. The media uses T.O. to get their stories.

Blaming the media for this is a bunch of bullcrap. :smh: T.O. was rushed to the hospital and a local TV station got the police report and the alleged suicide attempt was in that report. So the media simply reported what the police were told. After ESPN and others started to report it, the Cowboys got T.O.'s people on the horn, (publicist and others), and said we have to put out this fire. They got the news conference together and T.O. said it was a big misunderstanding. But have you noticed it seems he has more of those than any other player I know? :retard: The man has problems and needs help.

TGee,

We need to stop playing this card to justify Bad behavior.

TO has some serious issues. He has repeated the same patern in SF, Philly, now Dallas. He blows up the locker rooms, acts crazy with his coaches and teammates, thens gets on tv and acts all innocent. I would appreciate him more if he was just a full time A-hole.

BB send help!

Well so far as of now T. O has done nothing to disrupt the team. It was an accident. His people around him was being cautious so to be safe, his publicist called 911. Why did the police ask him did he tried to commit suicide? Was it there place to ask a question like that? The Dallas police and the MEDIA learned their lesson this week. It's sad though this incident give people the oppurtunity to voice their narrow scoped opinions about someone they have never met. Even the majority of the media has not met T.O. but it's their job to report something because they need the ratings and the ad revenue. What would the NFL be without television?

The media is waiting for him to blow up so they turn every incident into a possible opportunity for him to do so. They just want to be present to record the car accident. So far, there hasn't been one. I mean even Fox News was all over this. Hannity and Colmes... Whatever that lawyers show is... Starting off each broadcast with the headline, "TO trys to kill himself." Then follow it up with people saying they don't believe him in referencing his press conference. Just all interesting to me...
