It's Official........

The Southwestern Athletic Conference Council of Presidents voted to return football to a nine-game conference schedule beginning with the 2010 season.

The nine-game conference schedule will be in place for a minimum of four years through at least the 2013 football season. The SWAC last played a nine-game Conference schedule for three seasons from 2005-07. Since the SWAC expanded to 10 teams with full membership prior to the 1999 season, the seven-game format was used from 2000-2004, and from 2008 and the
upcoming 2009 season.

Whats the reason for moving the basketball tournament a week and the season up 2 weeks?

I hope they don't have us playing stu the first week in Jan when no one is around. They need to make sure that all the travel partners play in the middle and end of the season games.

Did they move up the basketball tournament to increase exposure?

Moving up basketball two weeks is not bad. It says only two games. Those two games will probably occur when SWAC schools are out of finals and a lot of schools are in finals.

Probably opens the window to some more attractive OOC games and/or tournaments.

Considering I believe you were perhaps the only Div I conference to play seven-inning doubleheaders in conference series, this is a step in the right direction. Typically the seven-inning doubleheaders have been for sub-Div I conferences.

A good move by the league!

Hey we just became the only conference in the country that plays a full slate of conference football games and then turns around to play a conference championshiop game.

1 step forward, 1 step back.

We are still ass-backwards! :mad:

I'll be listening in tomorrow and will give an honest assessment if I can get through. lol

We need to put Texas College and Morehouse/Lincoln on speed dial for our 10th and 11th games for 2010 since we have exactly the same # of games scheduled for 2010 that we do right now. :emlaugh: 9.

But you shole right and for the life of me, I can't see why people don't see that glaring, assinine fact. :lol:
Play everybody in the damm conference, and then have to play one of those same damm teams again in the SCG.

He wasnt talking down. He was telling the truth. You were saying we aint shat,we the worst, etc, etc, etc. There is a huge difference. How can we expect to get recruits to come to our schools if we forever talking like you were talking. Talking about the administrators/AD's is one thing, but you will never ever hear me question my school. Big difference.
