Regardless, no 10 team conference should be going to ONE coach to develop a model. Anybody with any kind of objectivity would be able to easily see that.
Like I said.......

Some of you all have to be the saddest group of men on earth. What part of model is it that you don't understand? You go around whining about every freakin thing and make up false senarios like Pete's making up the schedule for the entire SWAC. H3ll Pete have enough problems to get SU's adm. to allow him to make up SU's schedule, why in the h3ll do you think he'd be concern with yours?

Below is the excerpt from the article in 1998. Seeme like all the SWAC has to do is pickup where they left off
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE ROTATION: With the SWAC expanding to 10 teams and splitting into divisional play this season, the conference has adopted a five-cycle plan through 2008 for rotating nondivisional opponents.

By SWAC guidelines, "each university will play each team in the division a total of 10 times during the 10 years. Each university will play each team in the opposing division a total of six times during the 10-year period."

OK, this is simple. What is wrong with this plan?

Are some of you "REALLY" that screwed up in the head that you honestly believe that your school won't have any input on their on schedule?

No, you are the sad one cause you can't see past those blinders you got on. Come on, be real and get off that high horse you're on.

Ask UAPB about their input on their schedule, they didn't get a chance to put in any because they couldn't get in on the conferance call to defend anything. If it was done then, it will be done again.

There was nothing wrong with it with the Little 7, but the Big 3 didn't like it and convince those that be to come up with the 9 game mandate. Now they are finding all kinds of ways to get out of the mandate.

Like I said when this was just released; Slade didn't vote on the matter.

Hell, Slade, nor PVU's president doesn't even bother to show up to the conference meetings half the time.

There are a lot of problems with this plan.

1.) Lack of proper leadership to implement it.
2.) Coaches complaining about which games were counting since they were not going to Bham (Hughes) and coaches complaining about playing white schools (Petey and Doug)

I think Rudy had started making this mandatory. It was worse than this at one point.

Jesus freakin Christ Fiyah, don't you know the difference between one game and a entire freakin schedule? Oh and just excuse Alcorn for actually dropping UAPB.

But of course that was SU's fault too, as a matter of fact it's SU's fault that they didn't get to play UCA, it's SU's fault that TSU is going to the CWS regionals, it's SU's fault that PV dropped football, it's SU's fault that JSU hired dumbbell, it's SU's fault that when PV did get football back they didn't get any scholarships, it's SU's fault that MoBrown went into foreclosure, and while you're at it blame SU for not finding any WMD's. :read:

There is no other coach involved in this process, not even one from the other so-called B3 schools. This should be a committee that works on this and none of them should be coaches. But I think there are folks on this board that can do better scheduling than what the Swac office can do.
Maybe there are no other coaches involved because it's JUST A MODEL. And let's see... I'm going to assume that the MODEL will be presented to the other coaches and AD's of the SWAC for THEIR INPUT.

I'm sure you know McClelland (or whatever his name is) personally. Ask him if he has a problem with this instead of jumping the gun with your little conspiracy theory.:smh:

they have their cell numbers....but when state board meetings occur at the same time, who gets priority? duh

So the state board meetings are every time the SWAC meetings are?

Ok...I'mma say this just like I tell the folks at work...

YOU ALL KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM!
INSTEAD OF *****IN', COME UP WITH A SOLUTION!!!

I believe that is what Pete is doing. No law has been established to say no one else can....

All you whinin' mofo's need to regenerate your brain cells and come up with a proposal! At least, when your Presidents don't show up (for no apparent reason), then you can actually blame their inconsiderate arses! Wrong phone numbers? Hell, there should be a contact person at the SWAC office that has that info. I know they are not THAT unorganized!

:upset:

I don't want to see a 1-man model from someone who won't even be there...why Pete gets to develop the model? It doesn't take a genius to realize the SWAC will put that in gold and will probably use that as a standard.

as for meetings, they only meet 2 times a year. winter and spring..

ALONG CONFERENCE LINES: Two unusual scheduling glitches could make for some interesting debate as the 2004 season reaches its home stretch.

In the SWAC, Western division rivals Southern and Arkansas-Pine Bluff were permitted not to meet in 2004 after the two schools failed to agree on a date. According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, Southern declined to play the Golden Lions in the Gateway Classic on Sept. 25 in St. Louis, as school leaders were dissatisfied with the financial package surrounding what is one of Pine Bluff?s traditional Classic events. The teams each have an open date on Nov. 20, but Southern generally has a bye the week before the Bayou Classic and balked at that idea as well. As it stands now, both teams are playing just 10 games this season.

The OVC is also faced with an anomaly, as Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech will not face each other in 2004, with both schools playing seven games against league opponents instead of the customary eight. The circumstance stems from a previous TSU demand that it be able to play four revenue- producing "Classic" games each year, thus allowing for just seven conference games in an 11-game season. As teams were allowed to play 12 games over the past two years, the decision did not affect the league schedule as it will during the forthcoming campaign. One of TSU?s four "Classic" games in? 04 will count as a conference game, while one of Tech?s three non-league games will be similarly designated in the conference standings.

But why is a coach doing that in the first place?? Coaches don't make schedules, AD's do. Coaches asked for this and went above AD's who disapprove of this mandate......

and JD,

yes, they are that unorganized. The Asst Commish who is working with Pete is a person that I contacted a few months ago about the mandate and he told me that he had to check into my question!!! He did not even know about the mandate and he is over the friggen mens championships. They are all just collecting a check and eating chicken all day.

I never seem so much paranoia.. Who knows the Commissioner could have tasked his Assistant to come up with a model master schedule. The Asst. Commissioner simply chose Pete to work with because between all the ADs /coaches he has the longest tenure in the SWAC. We don?t know from this article that Pete the only coach or AD working with the Asst. Commissioner. The BLAME SOUTHERN FIRST CROWD need to chill.

Hell, if that's the case, if Texas Southern didn't "man up" and remove bill thomas he'd be apart of that committee also.

I guess this is the new Jaguar company line, we will see more of "It's just a model" party line over the next few days. :scared:

Yes we all do know there is a problem, if I was afforded the opportunity I would assist in organizing it.

You would figure this information would be there for the TOP Brass of the conferance office to contact the TOP Brass of each University.

And like TP said, "Yes, they are that disorganized"

If the article said McClelland was working on the model with the SWAC or Frazier is assisting the SWAC Assistant Commissioner, all hell would break loose by SU folks.

Let's just bust the damn thing up and everybody go the hell home or find somewhere else to go. All these complaints and all this fussing. Somebody aint got the phone number. Somebody had to go somewhere else. I aint playing on this weekend. I aint getting pimped by no promoter. All of this is bullshat.

The whole conference looks like a bunch of jack-asses. I bet $100 that Mark Emmert didn't tell Roy Kramer how to run the SEC.

Let's tear this thing down and rebuild it from scratch with new by-laws and a conference with some real power to make rules and power to enforce them. Every school has to re-apply and any school the wants to join can fill out an application.Anybody, (including my school) that does not want to do it the way it was written, needs to fined, sanctioned, or run the hell off.

The model might be SU's schedule for 10 years. They might use SU's data and go from that. Not all coaches would even be willing to do this, so why are yall complaining? You know it is true.

I noticed all of the peeps in here whining about Pete, there schools have not won a championship in 7 years. It is what losers do.........complain.

Hell you all did not raise this much "cain" when our troop were sent to Iraq. Some of you all really need to "get a grip."

Actually Diesel its not the SWAC that's looking like a bunch of jack-@sses just the TSPN board.

Change that to the Hate SU board. smh......Pete has been in the conference longer than any of the other coaches. Why shouldn't he be chosen to give some type of input??? An Fiyah ur the one with the blinders on. Would rather them ask Bell to do the model?? What's the big deal? Some of ya'll need to get a grip and stop acting like a bunch of losers.
