This was the biggest surprise for me. Did UAPB bring anyone?

Whether they brought anyone or not, it's still low for a JSU game. Homecoming and Alcorn will get the numbers back up to where they're supposed to be.

I think Alcorn's and our attendance was affected by the threat of the tropical storm. There weren't a whole lot of high schoolers at the game. I know folk who stayed home because they didn't wanna get caught in a storm, even though the skies were beautiful for most of the day. We did wind up getting wet for a few minutes twice.

Wow, Grambling having its struggles has really affected this game.

Brown think he's slick. Somebody is paying Myrlie's and Dr. GREENFIELD'S (Diversity my ass) Plane tickets and traveling fees to go to all those damn events.

3K is low for homecoming. I am hoping that is a misprint, Alcorn.

I thought the State Fair Classic Averages more than 30K there? Weather may have been a factor.

There are three SWAC schools that are in the top 20, but not one Southland Conference school. Somehow, SWAC schools should use attendance as means of marketing and recruiting athletes. If it was the other way around, I'm sure schools in the Southland Conference would use attendance to attract kids away from the SWAC.

With back to back national championship runner up claim to fame, Sam Houston should be at least in the top 10.

Wow...not good.

And McNeese since they compete very well and defeated USF. Thanks to SU, NwSt has the highest average attendance in the Southland Conference.

Here's the Southland Conference average attendance rankings:

Attendance Report thru games 10/05/2013
Rank Institution Avg Attendance
1 Northwestern St. 12,106
2 McNeese St. 11,406
3 Central Ark. 10,351

5 Lamar 8,245
6 Sam Houston St. 7,515
7 Nicholls St. 5,152
8 Southeastern La. 5,028

It seems to me they need us more than we need them, we just need to play better ball.

Need us for what? Clearly there's no correlation between attendance and good football when it comes to FCS.

So are you saying playing good football and still not making money does not have some type of correlation? :noidea:

I thought the name of the game was to get as many asses as you possible can get into your home stadium by any means necessary, otherwise, the game is being played for nothing

No, I'm saying that despite averaging less fans, that hasn't stopped SLC schools like Sam Houston from fielding great products. How did SU averaging twice as much as NWst help them in that game? Same goes for tsu in comparison to SHSU.

The name of the game is to win.

And winning guarantees a school more attendance and more money in the pocket. Somehow I'm seeing some type of correlation. Also, NwSt wouldn't be in first place in attendance in the Southland Conference if it wasn't for the SU game they played at home that had 14,873 in attendance, which I believe was their highest attended home game this season. Basically, Southland Conference schools make money off of scheduling and playing SWAC schools in a home to home series.
