Knock off the Panthers tomorrow!
GO TIGERS OF TSU!!!!!
It IS over.....
PV 15
SU 14
Final batter struck out looking.
TSU's major arms are just as tired.....they may throw the Thursday guys once again who pitched 5 innings each but there are no major arms being thrown on Monday....
Wrandal will get some time tomorrow as he can pitch on 3 days rest..but I have to see box scores to simulate the lineup
The championship shoulda been the championship. PV vs. TSU. W3 vs. W4.Man, the SU vs PV game should have been the championship. Congrats to both Texas Houston area SWAC West teams!
Peace...
Looking!!! That is my biggest pet peeve in baseball, never let the spectator behind the plate decide how you leave the batter's box. Oh well... Congrats PV! Man, now I got to here that PV recruiter in Dallas's mouth. lol Man!
Who knows the details on the matchup? TxSU seems to have glided to the championship. Do they have fresh arms left? Is my guess that PV has exhausted their pitching having had to play SU 3 times and Alcorn twice? How critical is that ejection for PV?
Man, the SU vs PV game should have been the championship. Congrats to both Texas Houston area SWAC West teams!
Peace...
Worth noting as it relates to the NCAAs...
With TxSo and PVA&M wrapping up a Texas bid for the SWAC...and other Texas schools currently projected to make the NCAAs are Texas, Rice (as a national seed), Dallas Baptist, Houston, Texas A&M (as a regional host) and more than likely, the SLC representative. We're looking at seven Texas teams heading to the NCAAs in baseball!
Put the gas in the bus bruh. Y'all going home. Maybe next year. lol :emlaugh:
The Prairie View A&M University, your 2008-09 SWAC Baseball Champions.
I wish my brother would have got in sooner.![]()
Theo Ycoy, who was a third baseman and not on the tournament roster last season, closed the game with a strikeout for his third save of the season. ?
Not dogging him at all. I would never do that to kid. Ycoy when he's on he's on, but when he's off he's off. After the first 2 batters, Ycoy should have been pulled, he didn't have it.But Joseph S. said Ycoy was an asset this year.......even wrote an article on him....now your dogging the kid..lol
Wrandal was told to leave by coach...umps threw out another guy (Baton Rouge native of all places) and they figured they didn't need any valuable players getting targeted knowing he'll pitch tomorrow
Thanks for the correction! Coach is getting smart. There was a time PV would have lost there cool and not handled it as well.
I think everyone is adjusting to a big adjustment in NCAA rules regarding scholarships and recruiting. But, it looks like some SWAC coaches are truly out there digging to see just how many quality players they can get to come to the SWAC.
Now, if we can get back to the very thorough tournament coverage like we enjoyed so much last year. And if we can get back to a 6 team double-elimination, that would be great! The SWAC does not have enough pitching for the double-bracket double-elimination tournament. Also, we usually don't have the versitility of playing in a complex with multiple fields for us to be able to make up lost time due to weather or extra inning games. I believe there is a brand new fancy state of the art baseball complex (like a lot of know about in youth baseball) that could give us the flexibility of having additional fields to play catch up on extended rain out situations in the feature.
Come on SWAC office, SWAC ADs, SWAC SIDs and SWAC Presidents, let's gt smart and commit our stations to providing internet coverage for the tournaments. I believe Alcorn, PV, Bama State, AAMU, TxSU and perhaps a couple extras have their own on-campus stations. YOu can at least work with them and whoever else can commit their local station's support to a rotation that covers the entire tournament, especially round 2 forward. I would think most stations simply want their airtime paid for. So, if it is already covered, it should be a deal to cover a game or two rather than playing music for what the sponsors have paid for. If there are gaps, between the SWAC and the schools that are playing during the gaps, they should be able to line up the sponsorship to cover the shortage, which will obviously help that school to receive payment for time that they would have been trying to figure out how to get paid. This is small scale stuff for Broadcast, Marketing and Business minded professionals. The market is there. It is great to have the championship on ESPU or ESPN2. But, there is enough interest across the country to get the rest of your tournament on internet broadcast.
Again, best wishes PV and TxSU. Do you best to represent well on TV, though I know your pitching is probably drained.
Peace...
Congrats PV & TSU...(oh and thanks for eliminating SU and JSU):swink:
Congrats PV. Coach Cador lost this game for SU. Im Cador's biggest fan but he needs to let Puebla Coach 3rd :angry: . SU had plenty of pitchers, that haven't pitched, so why let Yecoy walk the bases loaded and give up those runs in the 9th.
