Negatives about god? I was quoting actual words from the bible so how am I saying something negative? It's like you're criticizing me for quoting the bible. How logical is that?

The Israelites were told in several cases to kill every man, woman, child, baby and women who weren't virgins. Numbers 31:17-18. That's not love to me.
The Israelite fathers were given permission to sell their daughters to her rapist for a few shekels. On top of that, the daughter HAD to marry him and could not divorce her rapist. Deut. 22:28. That's not love is it?
Homosexuals were commanded to be put to death. Leviticus 20:13. Is that showing love, to command the death of a human being simply because of his/her sexual preference? Imagine if this was one of our laws today.

If you're going to live by the ENTIRE bible, you're bound by that same book to accept and own ALL of it, not just the parts that sound sweet.

As far as praying for a person, that's your prerogative.

I wonder how some of these same religious folks speaking out against the choice of same-sex marriage would feel if the government began taxing churches and infringing on THEIR rights. They'd raise "holy" hell.
 



At least the supreme court made two correct rulings this week, they have moved away from judicial legislation as they did in the civil rights case.

The secular part of marriage belongs with the state - equal protection under the law.

The poster did not quote the original source, he quoted wiki. If he is using that for his basis, then HE needs to check the original source for validity not me.

Missing link or not, how do you know beyond a doubt that the biblical god provided this missing link? Proof of this would really be getting to the core of it.
 
I never said anything about God providing the link. Let's try this :the issue was presented about proof of evidence
I was humbly submitting that the theory of evolution cannot be proven. I have an extremely hard time understanding why scientists don't understand that there are higher forms of math and science than they know .
 
Thanks for pointing that out. The problem is Atheist are so gong ho to say God doesn't exist that the point of proving he doesn't goes right over their head!!

Now where's the evidence to show that the biblical god is the one true god? If you can't answer it, I can help you.:emlaugh:

You are one funny dude. You remind me of an associate of minds from college. I remember 15-16 years ago we were all out kicking it at one of our boy’s house grilling out. I made a comment about "The bible does say don't let the right know what the left is doing". Well to make a long story short, he too was like you and laughed at me and the other folks in Christ talking bad about us and how stupid of a line that was. Well he preached his first sermon two weeks ago. Son the same God as yesterday is the same God as today and the same God of tomorrow. :tup: He doesn't need me to fight his battles and prove anything to you son. It is not my job. I walk by faith, not by sight. So keep on living and keep on doing you, but as for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord. :tup:

I just KNOW you're not on here complaining about folks talking bad about anyone. That's one thing you're good at and it doesn't matter what group.
I don't need to talk about people who believe in the bible because that's not the issue.
Whether the words of the bible are accurate or not is the issue.

I humbly asked you to prove that the biblical god is the one true god. It was an honest request. The bible does say "prove all things".

There is a reason they call it faith. I know because of my life experience. i know because I have a personal relationship with Him. We will all know on the day the trumpets sound and ya boy takes off like superman on the way to meet Jesus in the sky. But know that you can't prove your daddy is your daddy. A dna test will provide you with a percent certainty, but not absolute certainty. So while we are talking about proving stuff....:dizzy:....son:swink: sorry you had to find out this way. As for recent court rulings. If you are not of God then you are of the world. The world is going to do some screwy stuff. They live by the if it feels good do it , way of life. So I expect this nonsense, I only get upset when the Church goes along with it. The people of God are supposed to be different. We are the outsiders, the aliens. My message to the world is go on with ya bad self. While you do you, I'll do the God thing. I love you and so does God but he's not going make you do anything. Nothing is free though my friend, not even salvation. He paid the cost for that, so if you reject it, then you have to pay the fare on your own...... and it doesn't come cheap!

One bone I have to pick with the church and sexual sin... we are not on those out there slinging their thing in hetrosexual relations. our kids are getting their freak on and we say nothing. We hold up athletes are role models who have several children and aren't married, and we as christians commit, justify, and excuse our heterosexual sins (me included.) We in part don't have authority of credibility b/c of this. If we start by addressing that issue and tell them the truth (because we love them, not to condemn them) some of our brothers and sisters will meet Christ in a way they recognize because they will see Him in us.
 
Separate question. If a dude comes out as gay on a team sport, does he have to have a separate locker room? I mean the reason co-ed's have separate facilities is b/c they don't want to share with men that might be checking them out. Well, if you like guys, if your Jason Collins, your in a NBA locker room with all these physically fit, presumably attractive men, your not checking anyone out?

Separate locker rooms are not necessary. If someone makes a un-appropriate approach or comment then file a complaint. It should not be treated any different than in-appropriated heterosexual behavior.

Nope. They don't have separate locker rooms in the WNBA. They don't have separate locker rooms at the gym or spas or separate bathrooms in the workplace.
