Supreme Court rulings on same-sex marriage hailed as historic victory

^^ The problem with most people who quote the bible, for whatever reason, is that they haven't read the whole thing to understand that a lot of it contradicts itself.

For example, God is a man of war, then God became a man of peace.

So which one is it? You can't be both at the same time. Or how do we get over the fact its ok to sell your daughter, or that polygamy was practiced by Abraham and other patriarchs of the 3 big religions, and encouraged by God himself.

Yet, they'll quote verse saying that marriage is of one man and one woman?

Both lines are in the bible, but which one to follow? All of the homosexual forbidding laws were mainly in the old testament. Yet, when you bring up old testament law "we don't have to follow those rules, Jesus fulfillied those laws".

Its a never ending calamity of open mouth, insert foot, when you consider the bible the "word of God".

Seeing as it was put together by Roman priests more then 500 years after Christ lived, and that some books were excluded (revalations was hotly debated on whether not to put it in), and hell, even the Roman Catholic (the first Christian church) has more books in their bible then protestants have in theirs.

Its a book of reference, it may have been inspired by God sometimes, but it was written by men, and flawed because of the latter.

What is so amazing is how Atheist say the bible is flawed because it was written by man, yet they find the same books written by man who says God doesn't exist to be outstanding. Amazing how man can justify what he likes to justify.............. I guess rump rangers think procreation meant rumping it out. I bet these same people think we didn't land on the moon either.....

The Bible is a story - a great one at that - but a story nonetheless.

So is the Torrah and the Quran. If you're offended, then oh well. I'm not disrespecting the religious text of choice; however, I am stating what they and every other piece of religious book is - stories suited for that particular religion. Yes they have very special meanings for everyone, but they're just expounded versions of Aesop Fables.

Powerful books and words, but when looked at for what it is - a collection of stories and moral messages - it's just that, a story. Nothing special.

Quote the bible all you want - you'll be quoting your favorite story.

So what about the book of funny bunnies and the rump ranger? I bet that book is exciting to you folks huh?

As Christians we are not commanded nor encouraged to enter into discussions, disputes and/or debates with natural men who despises God’s word.

As Christians, we are commanded to proclaim God’s word and leave it to God to make His word effectual. When we engage in endless debates with non-believers we allow God’s word to be mocked, belittled and blasphemed; such does not give glory to God. Also, engaging in such feeds only our pride (which God Hates) and allows us to promote the evil we seek to suppress. Even if we assume to have won one of these debates, such give glory to man (us), not God.

If you find no truth in my words, Please accept His words

Matthew 7:6. Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Matthew 15:14. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Proverbs 9:7-8 He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.

Good Day and God Bless

:lecture: The court that is Supreme to All courts, resides not in Washington, DC. The truly Supreme court has no jury and worketh all things after the counsel of his (God’s) will.

Engaging in civil conversation allows the non-factual information to be revealed as bogused. This is why many don't want to engage in conversation. That's been my experience one way or the other.

The figure Paul did just the opposite of what you're proclaiming when he went out to the market DAILY to converse with others not of his religion.

As far as Matthew 7:6 is concerned, I could say the same thing about Galileo when he was faced with death for going against the beliefs of the Christian leaders regarding the earth not being the center of our solar system.
Galileo tried to give proven knowledge to the Christian leaders, that the Earth revolved around the sun, not vice versa as the religious folks were teaching.
I guess he was trying to give knowledge to the holy, but they wouldn't accept it. Did that make the "holy" folks the dogs that Matthew spoke about?

People say the bible is flawed not only because it's written by men, but because much of it's information has been found to be in question. Unfulfilled prophecies, plagiarized material taken from previous religions and mythologies, inaccurate historical data, inaccurate scientific data, inaccurate geological data, inaccurate archaeological data.

The aforementioned are concrete data that can be measured as being fact or fictional. There's no guesswork involved.
THIS is why folks can confidently say that much of the bible is composed of fictional data. It has nothing to do with hating the bible or a biblical god. It's a matter of deciding to put away fictional feel-good type stories and accept the facts as they're laid out.
It's as simple as that.

Really? I'd like to see factual evidence of that.

Yeah the way you are arguing for doo doo boy rights you know something...........

No, I'm arguing for the rights of ALL people, whether I agree with their sexual preferences or not. It's called equality, something the words of the bible takes away from many innocent peoples such as women, gays, handicapped, children, girls, other races, etc.

For example, I don't agree with the Klan, but I'm not down with taking away their first amendment right to "freedom of speech". If their rights can be taken away, then so can mine. The same with the rights of other groups who I may or may not agree with.

I hope this helps to enlighten you a bit more.
