Folks tend to get "personal" when they can't debate using logic.

Whose to say Doug will get the quality players he needs for his system? You're hoping that that will happen, but you don't know.

Can he recruit another Bruce Eugene? Can he get the likes of Spears as his offensive coordinator? These are questions one has to ask before jumping the gun.
You guys seem to think that Doug is the end-all be-all, and I'm here to say that he's not. He's a good coach, but he's not great.
If you do hire him, I doubt if he'll be better than Pete. Yall lost a good one when yall lost Pete.
Hey Jay Rob wouldnt you hate to see Doug at SU with Spears and Northern as coordinators? Now wouldnt that be one for the ages!:flippy:

Where did he say top sports story? I could have swore I read TOP SPORTS NEWS

sports story?.......sports news

c'mon now Psycho

Is ESPN gon have a live feed from the interview? And if he's hired, I guess that would be the top sports "news" "story" for a month. Forget the NFL playoffs, bcs championship, and everything else, the fact that Doug Wms is interviewing for a job is the top sports "news".........

wow!

Yeah, we might hate it...but we will never that... 'cause Dug ain't gonna be SU's coach. WHY? 'cause SUcks is broke. :lecture:

TP,

You just want attention today! :emlaugh: I got to give it to you though, you're a funny guy. When will you and Rent Ready have an impasse about Rick "Comedy" in the Clarion Leger? :emlaugh: The curse of Jacque Wash is still in full effect and not even Booga Buffalo Butt himself can exercise those demons! :emlaugh:

Believe it or not he's not the funniest. I prefer 2-10 Bell and 3-7 Comegy better. That's Richard Pryor comedy there!!!

Po Doug is about to sell his soul...

First, he stabbed Eddie in the back, now he is stabbing Grambling in the Back...

Someone should write a book "Loyalty and Betrayal"- the Doug Williams Story...
WHATEVER!! But I know one thing, a su man will NEVER be the HC a GRAMBLING!!!...lol

Contender : in the running for a prize or championship .... like 2004 (in the SCG) or 2007 (going to the last week).

And please point to the time when SU was a SWAC doormat ... I would love to see this.
Before Pete got there in '93 when was the last conference title for you guys?

Who is suppose to be scared?

No one........

If Doug is suppose t be so hot, why ain't no other school going after him? With all the openings that came about. why isn't his name associated with any of them?

Somebody gonna get played........You thought Pete pimped you for some dollars.....

Who said Pete pimped us? When Frazier wins PV at least 3 National Titles and ya'll are traveling 20,000 plus with no less than 18,000 per home game, let's see how much you will be, so called pimped, with regards to Frazier's salary. Salaries are all about agreements if you can afford it. The employee is going to push for as much as he can convince you he is worth. The employee is going to try and low ball you as low as they can to get as much as they can for as cheap as they can. The more you get your employee to like you, the less they try to low ball you and the easier it is to get what you actually want, unless we hit an ecomony like our current one. Then, other factors come into play.
So, I'm not sure where the pimping comment comes from... SU salaries are not your salaries. So, what may be pimping to you is likely not for others.

Peace...

WHATEVER!! But I know one thing, a su man will NEVER be the HC a GRAMBLING!!!...lol

I suppose this is a "Grambling Loyalty thing? Too bad that wasn't the thinking with Baseball and Women's Basketball.

Didn't seem to have a problem with "SU people" when Doug had no less than 3-4 on his staff at one time.

:shame:

You do realize there is something between doormat and conference title, right?

I wonder if folks read what they see or what they want to see.

The point is will SU be a contender to win the SWAC. We've been a contender for many years, whether we have won it or not. So, let's make sure we addressing the topic and not some petty rivalry side bar discussions. The person that posted it may actually want some geniune input on their topic.

Peace..

Oh misinformed one:

Ralph Waldo Emerson Jones (Grambling's very first football coach) is a SOUTHERNITE! :emlaugh: In the infamous words of Fred G. Sanford........."You big DUMMY!" :emlaugh:

(don't make me tell you the rest of the story........Thanks Paul Harvey)

I decided not to go there with them. But, the truth will make you free. I trip out on some of these folks so called standards. You hired the man and won championships with him. Now, he ain't a good canidate. Now, don't get me wrong, I can see how it may be a benefit. But, I was kind of hoping another canidate comes out on top. But, I'm hearing the timing may not be good for his family for him to come to BR now. But, I think it can be worked out if we want him. In fact, Doug would like him to join him on the staff. But, I don't know if I'd leave what I got to join a new situation and I'm not the head guy. So, we will see.

Peace...

ummmm,
are you serious?
:scared:

So if Doug was interviewing for any NFL or FBS job it will not be one of the top stories of the sports day? Tell me you are serious.

You do realize that he does carry some name recognition. This has nothing to do with him interviewing at SU. If Doug got an interview and was in serious contention for the job at a SEC, Big 10, Pac 10, Big 12 or any NFL job he would be news.

That is all my LB is saying. It is based on who HE is and not where he is interviewing. Jerry Rice would make the news too if he was interviewing for a college head coach job or a NFL job.

JR,

so you also think Doug interviewing would be the top sports story (or news) of the day/week?

:smh:

again, wow!

Won the SuperBowl over 20 years ago, and he interviews for a job 20 years later and that would be the top sports story of the day/week????? Forget the NFL. The NBA. All the bowl games.

interesting

Bruh, I gather you ain't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but perhaps you should learn to quit while you're behind. Knowledge can be your friend.

So if Doug interviewed for a FBS job and was considered a finalist, you think it wouldn't be a top story. I didn't say LEAD story. But one that would get a top story nod? Now that is interesting that you think that no one at ESPN would do that. Mind you, I aint talking about the SU job in general.

He got press time when Kentucky interviewed him. Heck he got press time for the jersey flare up when Clarett was going through the mess at Ohio State.

Jim Brown aint played ball even longer than Doug. Let his name come up for his alma mater at Syracuse and it would be a top story of whatever day it was.

You are trying to get into saying bowl games, NBA, etc. No one said it would be the lead story. But whether we think so or not. Ole ashy lips is news. Let his arse get in trouble with the law and see how they find time to run it like he is still playing. LOL.

75,
I don't blame yall. I wouldn't hire one of them yellas either...light skinned bastids...

Dude, shut the hell up! Your current president is "light skinned" and was delivered to you all from New Orleans Louisiana! :emlaugh: (little hypocrite)

 :emlaugh:
