It AIN'T just PV folks saying they would give JSU some comp....IMHO PV has the edge in percussion, intensity....and....gasp
drilling. It's different, fresh, original. Not saying JSU is boring IMO but the edge goes to PV. When JSU came down here this year they were great. They got the W but not by much. What was to be expected when they never stopped playing during the game anyway.

I dont need a tape. I was there and I sat right by TSU
during the game to hear the great Sonic POP from across
the field. In the 5th I stood right in front of yall's clarinets.
To be honest, I was sorta disappointed. I mean yall sound good
but not full and the trumpet section is WAY over the band.

ANY HBCU band, and so is our sound. Yall don't even pick up
yall legs. Yall pop 45's and 50's, not 90's.
Bottom line: It should be a good matchup. Just dont prejudge PV.

and you know what that game was at the beginning of the year in our peak season.
I don't even know why I am responding, I have been following the BOOM for the last 10 years. We are not going to PV unless the Football team can WIN every game before we play you and I don't see that happening.
I'm not calling PV sorry or any SWAC band, but you are never in the Top 3 bands out of the swac any recent years. Okay you went to the Honda BOTB, So what!!!!!!! I hope yall saved the money from that battle that way you can travel more.
To be honest the only way you will see JSU is in a classic or a BOTB featuring both bands.
You may give W.T. comp but you want give them a L

Since you was at the game last year you may remember a short lite skinned man in front near yall PV old heads and you ask on every song, like WOA, Jstate is coming dawg. Yall also stated that PV band would have got their azz hand to them also especially in the 5th.....

TSU had recently did something similiar by moving their Alcorn game as well. However, most of the students from the band and the football had to take a mandatory state Test (TASP) which prevented us from moving the game at the last minute. I stated all that to say, is I guess as far as tyhe 2 bands matching up, we will just have to wait and see.

#1. The game was closer to mid-season than the beginning of the season.
#2. Nobody said that EITHER the BOX or the Storm would be handing out L's. We said that it would be a good matchup.
#3. I wish some people would get original. We have traveled more in the last 2 years than we did probably the entire 90's. Travel smack is no longer valid. We still have issues, but we already are traveling more.
#4. If you haven't seen us recently, how can you say that we are not one of the top 3 bands??

On one hand, I understand this. But at the same time, how can you knock us for not coming to you? PV traveled to Jackson in 86. Jackson NEVER came back to PV.
This isn't meant to be an argument by any means. But I have been having pretty much the SAME discussion on another page with another JSU poster (one that was only around the band, not in it).

I was on the Dome floor with a black shirt and light colored slacks videotaping (not too far from where the PV oldheads were). They (as well as myself) gave y'all props where they were due, but as far as saying y'all would clean us out, I highly doubt that.

Actually The BOOM doesn't march 90's. They actually march at a 45 degree angle which is military style. This is intentional and it does look good when done properly. THe key isn't how hard you march but how well you march together to give the appearance of uniformity.

Actually The BOOM doesn't march 90's. They actually march at a 45 degree angle which is military style. This is intentional and it does look good when done properly. THe key isn't how hard you march but how well you march together to give the appearance of uniformity.

Look little Boy, I'm not going to waste my time entertaining you about band budgets....... All I did was make a comment.... txso band is good and i love them....... PV can't even get past Txso band so save it.
