Star Jones Leaving 'The View'

NEW YORK (AP) -- Don't expect any smackdown between Rosie O'Donnell and Star Jones Reynolds on "The View." Reynolds said Tuesday she was leaving the show.

She told People magazine, "I feel like I was fired."

Rumors that she was leaving have intensified since the April announcement that Rosie O'Donnell would be replacing Meredith Vieira on "The View" in the fall.

O'Donnell had made several caustic remarks about Reynolds, saying that it was dishonest for her to talk about losing more than 100 pounds through diet and exercise without talking about gastric bypass surgery.

Reynolds, one of the original cast members of Barbara Walters' daily chatfest, made the announcement after the first commercial break of "The View" on Tuesday, saying the show had decided to move in a new direction.

In other words.......................
You can say it's time to do something new and save face............or try and stay and get publically kicked out.

After all the embarrasment she caused with that "gimmy stuff free" wedding and self-promotion, she can't act like she didn't see this comming.

Everybody can say what they want, but R. O'donald was her REPLACEMENT all along and she knew it. Unlike the others, her contract is expiring and nobody even knows about it.

Not surprised at all. Guess this opens the door up for Oprah's galpal plaything Gayle King.

Y'all beat me to it.

She is exiting due to long time feud with the new View Moderator, Boy/Girl Rosie O'Donnell.

Rosie:
"Star jones had weight loss surgery/she had part of her stomach bypassed/that is how she lost 1/2 herself/she refuses to say this/which is her right/but we do not have to pretend/we do not know.

"so star shrinks b4 our eyes/we know the truth/but nod as she talks about/pilates and will power/i am sure star jones/beneath the beyonce bravado/is a scared lil girl/who grew her body big/strong and safe."

STAR:
When asked about Reynolds, O'Donnell called her, "An interesting woman on many levels. I do not wish her any ill will. I just think it's very hard for everyone to participate in, you know, the illusion that she presents as her truth."

replacing one F@G Hag with another one.

We all need to start :read: more books.

Barbara Wa-Wa had this to say.

WALTERS FEELS ?BETRAYED? BY
STAR JONES: ?View? creator says co-
host?s announced departure Tuesday
took her by surprise.

*Talk about being blind-sided. Star
Jones Reynolds apparently told
no one of her decision to announce her
departure from ?The View? during
Tuesday?s live show. Even her boss
Barbara Walters was caught off guard.

"I love Star and I was trying to do
everything I possibly could ? up
until this morning when I was betrayed ?
to protect her," Walters told The
Associated Press.
Walters also said she was unaware
of Star?s interview in People
magazine (on stands Friday), where she
said that producers made the decision
not to renew her contract for a tenth
season. She told the magazine: ?I feel
like I was fired.?
Star was right. Walters said ABC
brass was unhappy with research
that showed audiences had soured on
the former prosecutor since her
mysterious weight loss and 2004 wedding
to banker Al Reynolds. She was
roundly criticized for a Web site that
promoted companies that donated items
for the wedding party's gift bags. According
to Walters, ABC execs made the
decision last fall to let Reynolds go.
"We tried to talk them out of it,"
Walters said, "and we tried to
give Star time to redeem herself in
the eyes of the audience, and the
research just kept getting worse."
Walters said Reynolds knew she
wouldn?t be returning even before
Meredith Vieira announced her
departure for "The Today Show" in April.

The network gave her the "BOOT" and told her not to show up for work today on the View.

Barbra Walters is hot as a oven on broil.:emlaugh:
From what I was reading, it's a good thing she was not there.
She threw STAR under a bus and subway car in the NY POST and NY Daily News today.:emlaugh:

People that watch......................Is this a good show or just another daytime GAB/GOSSIP fest like the rest of daytime TV?
