Star Jones Leaving 'The View'

I don't watch The View so I can't say that I will or will not miss Star Jones on the show. But the black in me has to have her back 100%. I don't see a problem with what she announced on the show. ABC agreed not to renew her contract. It happens all of the time in TV...and business. So in a sense, she did feel like she was being fired. But because she didn't leave the show the way Barbara Walters or the other ofays running the show wanted her to leave...now they're trying to paint her as the bad guy. People always talk about what's going on with this country...but you turn right around and hire a big fat dyke on your show. Personally I hope the show gets cancelled(which I doubt that it will). Major props go to Star. Whether or not you like her or not...the sister is being railroaded. I wish her success in her future endeavors!!!

I agree with NN on this one.

Plus, I saw nothing wrong with Star using sponsors for her wedding. Less money out of her pockets. That is smart to me instead of pulling a Toni Braxton with a $100K wedding.

 :emlaugh:

Some of the comments on this thread are out of line. Whether you liked her or not she was an educated black women making moves and holding her own on an often times hostile show. **** I didn’t agree with her most times but I respect her for showing another side to “US”

Now off my soapbox…

I agree with NN .She was railroad plain and simple. Barbara Walters she just pissed that she one up her on her own show.

I just don't like to hear a bunch of people talking at one time on a news show/talk show. Too much silliness is a turnoff to me..

Star just didn't appeal to me on The View and I just couldn't make myself watch it. Now, when she was on Court TV, I would watch her. Maybe because she was serious a majority of the time.

Nastynupe, I agree totally... You took the words right out of my mouth. What's pissing me off the most is why the public feels she owes them some kind of explanation of how she lost her weight and how she got her wedding like she did. She doesn't owe anyone anything just like a normal person! She's entitled to her own privacy just like you and I. So now, everyone want to be mad at her for trivial things that have nothing to do with anyone but Star. The woman is a high profiled attorney and member of the New York State Bar for God's sake! She knows how to play the game. Barbara Walters and ABC can sit up here and try to act like they got rid of her all they want, but I don't believe one cent of that. Star Jones Reynolds is far from stupid. She simply played her own cards right. She didn't renew her contract because "SHE" didn't want to....not because ABC didn't offer it to her. And now that the loud and obnoxious Rosie will be on the show, I feel it will not last very long. "The View's" days are now numbered. People only tuned in to see the controversial Star Jones Reynolds in the first place. And now that she's gone, it will be nothing to see. I don't care what anyone says, but I am glad she left that show.....and I will support her through this. Her co-host and ABC weren't doing anything but using her as a token anyway. And they are just salty that she blew up the way she did. Oh well....

Good luck Star.

Now that's the way I feel when it comes to the Tom Joyner Morning Show. That J. Anthony Brown runs his mouth to much.

I don't listen to Tom Joyner for that very reason!

That damn Sybil or whatever her name is sounds like a hyena!

Rumor has it that Gayle King will take it. While it might not be a bad gig for Gayle, some how I think The View should not be viewed any longer.

I liked Star Jones when she was a "Big Girl", after the surgery she became a completely different person, her personality changed, she actually became another person.

I heard about the Gayle King rumor. If Gayle is the wise woman that I think she is, she wouldn't take that position. She's doing just fine working in background for Oprah Winfrey.

And lastly, Star Jones Reynolds ripped that Larry King Live show to pieces last night. For those of you that caught it, you know what I'm talkin about. They had to actually air it twice. Peace.
