Southern Vs. Jackson State 1983

:lmao:
Umm TPAfter what we did FAMU in 99, they had ALUMNI PISSED at FAMU BAND... They were dayum near asking for autographs from us in 99 after that game was over.. And our football team got STUMP in the FN 1 quarter.. shat we were through in 3:00 of that game... and they still were pissed at FAMU band... TP get a clue brah...

That's a lie.

Lik JR said Robber, most musicians remember all that stuff in detail.. Im sure it's a many of football players that remember games from years ago like yesterday... Now TP on the other hand isn't a musician and I have no earthly idea how he remember s all of the WRONG isht.. That TP is something else....lol

TP is just learning how to be a band geek, bruh. Cut him some slack.

TP...I think you're doing a good job at being a bandhead. You know about as much most of the Boomers (which ain't much), 'cept folks like Frosty and T-Made. And, you don't have to go thru the Boom bandroom brainwash'n. Heck, you win (a lil), as far as Im concerned...

Ps- Whenever he post, stick with T-Made's main points...and, you'll be fine. He seems to be the most logical Boomer.

Right.. All TP need to know is 90 was the best ever BOOM and nothing after that wasn't bout isht..

Tp do come off as having a bit more knowledge them most of these Boomers on here... but that ain't saying much...

:)

Did anyone ever answer my question?

*mumbling to self* :slap:

P,
The Jukebox had some pretty young assistants at that time. Roy Johnson and Eric Baskin were young guys then along with Graduate Assistant Kelvin Washington who is at Howard now. So I am sure they were hip to everything knowing them like I do. Before that a young Terral Jackson Sr was the same way in the early 80s as an assistant. Those guys would listen to all kinds of music and have all kinds of ideas. I arrived that following year and was amazed at the variety of music we would have arranged by them.

The guys singing Cedric "Peabo" Stroy, Joey(Pensacola), Greg Watt(hit the high note on the end of Real Love) and Ansel Bradford were all into music something tough and they had influence on Doc. Especially Peabo being that he was from Shreveport. I am sure between them and Roy they decided to do a Lakeside show with the Black man's approval of course. The Juke was always coming up with isht that others would be like DAMN!

We were good at having shows that flowed like that. A mini concert. LOL. That 83 band had alot of individuals that were very creative. So that and a great band staff and an aggressive Doc Greggs who was in his early 50s then made for a great band.

BTW, the trumpet soloist(Terence "Dr. Jazz" Parker) on Real Love was one of the many Forest Brook HS Houston Texas cats in the band. They had some hella musicians come from there.
