Southern to begin search for new softball coach

Southern University will begin its search to name a new head softball coach to replace former coach Nancy Marshall, whose tenure ended after the 2013 season.
Marshall, who has served as softball's head coach since the sport's debut in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in 1997, finished the season 6-42 and the Lady Jaguars missed the conference tournament in each of the last two seasons.

"We will post the position for national search in the coming days and expect to have a new coach approved by July 1," said Dr. William Broussard, Director of Athletics.

Like I said in another thread, Broussard is not going to play around with you losing like we were in softball.

Its time for new leadership for our Softball Team.
 
Interesting that I brought this issue up a few months ago. lol

But of course, you can't justify keeping someone that has a 6-42 season following several consecutive horrible seasons. There is no reason for our team to suck so bad with all of these strong programs around BR.
 
That's the new AD's job...:emlaugh:

They don't pay me to evaluate, hire or fire even though I did have a hand in hiring Broadway :idea:
 



Marshall knew it was coming unfortunately and if you went to a softball game this year you saw something that indicated it easily...when you recruit Texas players and the parents get mad, they tell you everything

I would think the fact that your team went 6-42 would kind of give you a clue. lol. I mean how do you come back from that?

You pretend like it wasnt common knowledge if she didnt damn near win the tournament she would not be retained lol.
