Southern moves Jackson State game to Miss.

The Southern football program hasn’t changed opponents, dates or times on its upcoming schedule.

But the Jaguars have moved a game away from A.W. Mumford Stadium.

On Tuesday afternoon, Southern finalized a deal to move its Oct. 3 home game against Jackson State to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss., effectively giving the Tigers home-field advantage in a game they were supposed to play on the SU campus.

I wonder if a school has EVER in the history of football... voluntarily (or otherwise) moved it's HOME GAME to another STATE...

as much as they bragged about
having their own stadium
every SWAC school should abandon those
on-campus playground/Pastures & move ALL their games to Jackson

“If you’ve ever been to that game in Jackson, you know that it’s like the Fourth of July in October,â€￾ LaFleur said. “It’s like a festival. The parking lots are full all day with people tailgating."

 LeFleur loves him some JACKSON... and so does Jag Nation.
He loves the Environment... He feels safer and its more Family Friendly in Jackson vs The atmpospher on SU's campus.

LeFLeur is a Smart Man!

"IT'S LIKE THE FOURTH OF JULY IN OCTOBER" LeFleur

:lmao:

Is Perryn Keys white?
I want to make sure this story is legit BEFORE he takes this over to the smack board.

SU folks shole is quiet....some things you do for money....some things you JUST DONT DO FOR MONEY.

yep
when we tried to explain to these yokles, the economics of not
having an on-campus stadium and playing in memorial, they
pretended not to understand, but somebody on that campus finally understands it.

And their so called stadium is standing & it's still not worth playing there!!!

To think they wanted us to build our own, rather than the deal we have now.

Only when Memorial is torn down will we build something more than those
pits, and middle school type places they have

Originally, Southern planned to rent the stadium from the state of Mississippi, which owns and maintains the facility.

Under the finalized deal, Jackson State will rent the stadium and take a 20-percent cut of the gate revenue in 2009. Southern will take an 80-percent cut, as well as a percentage of parking and concessions, LaFleur said.

I see JSU still rents, just make sure my University gets their fair share! Since i won't be in attendance!

Plus fair seating arrangements for fans and their band as well.

Less traffic and no one way in one way out type scenario at least for the next two years.

It's not about being fair with the seats and what area you designate to the opposing team. Thats why it's called HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE!!!

SU has given that right up...........

Yes......look at what New Orleans Saints had to do (it's part of the otherwise area).

SU tried to get PV to move its game against them to Baton Rouge when we played them in Tuly Stadium on a sweet Sept afternoon in Houston. We brought their arse to that place and beat them in the Hot afternoon sun. Advantage ..... PV.....

Its 2,500. It will be sold out for homecoming.

Well that would be great (No smack)
I'm laughing and all... mainly b/c of what some of the foolish things posted by a few SUckers in the past... but on a serious note. This is CRAZY!
Its BRAND NEW... Grand Opening this season. Why not put it to use? :retard:

SU/JSU is a high attended game. It would have been PERFECT for SU this season.

I guess you guys will have to promote the SU/TnSU game to get as many butts in there as you can (and try to fill it up)

This is a sad day is swac history
wow....as bad as gr wanted this
gr cant believe su was stupid enough to rent a stadium for a game.

SU has games moving left and right... :scared:

TxSU/SU game moved to DECMEBER 5th (week after the bayou classic)
SU/JSU game moved from BR to the JACKSON,MS

Whats NEXT? :retard:

SU/TnSU game going to be moved to Nashville or Memphis?

Hmm... SU can't understand JSU playing in Memorial 2 miles from campus but they moved their home game OUT OF STATE to play in the WHITE MAN stadium... DAYUM! You can't make this sh*t up...:lol::lol::lol::lol:

The Saints' situation was not voluntary... They had a little thing called Katrina that forced them other places...

jSU folks are smacking but do yall realize playing in Jackson 2 years in a row will take away from the game, and JSU will lose in the long run.
