we've hired PWC presidents but they seem to act worse than a HBCU lifer at times as they get into the hook-up business with their PWC friends who could not cut it and micromanage also

I am too. But I am sure the proposition to be a head coach was intriguing. Coming back to his home state with no State Income Tax and good recruiting base. Don't know what Rutgers was paying him as the WR coach. But it may not have been a whole lot. Not to mention NJ is expensive with high arse taxes.

I don't think we have to change where we hire our Presidents from. As long as they understand the academic side of things and can fund raise/get grants and such. It is the other folks who actually do the hard work that we need some progressive and new blood. Even the PWC Presidents don't know much about sports. They just hire the best folks to do the work. Look at Ohio State Prez. Dr Gee. He is a socialite that knows how to fund raise. LOL. But he was smart enough to listen to the AD, Archie Griffin, Clark Kellogg and others about bringing Eddie George on staff to help out. You know he don't even realize what job Eddie is going to do. LOL. But the AD done sold him on Eddie being able to help student athletes with the outside the game stuff and help them with professional development, etc. I am also sure ole Eddie going to be kissing a lot of babies, signing autographs and getting folks to write checks academically and athletically. So basically a smart move on their part.
That's the kind of thinking our schools need. Just on a smaller scale. We need connections to the business world and we need folks who understand how to mobilize the resources we do have. Maybe some of our schools need to hire some folks off the Obama campaign. They know exactly how to reach folks and know how to raise money on a grassroots level. Since we don't have billionaire alums like the big schools. We have to get a dollar here, 5 dollars there, etc. We just don't have folks with business sense or savvy. They can teach the textbook. But most have never had to make a company any money or start their own thriving business. Then a lot of them don't have people skills. I could go on. But I will stop.

you wrote all of that but those same folks who went to those schools get to ours and they want to mircomanage and make themselves the face of the program...and our boards...nevermmind

Our Took care of the situation in a professional way....He didn't sound aggressive or just flat out say....Hey that dude is a liar......he said..."I don't understand why they would say that"....Yes in Business ...It's a Mutual Respect that you would contact the school and let them know your interest...but at the end of the day....they don't have to.....so if BCU AD put his self out there like that....When u make comments in the public media you should know it's always going to be 2 sides to the story

Whoever they hire is going to be the greatest of all time...trust me. So it really doesn't matter ...remember when they hired LyvoniaMitchell he was THEGOAT and he assembled the greatest coaching staff of all time. They had a white coach so you knew we were in trouble. Remember they had that coach that tackled that guy in the Superbowl that time or something. And they were going 12-0 that year. Three years later they still haven't won 12 games total. Ole Stumps record at MorganState meant nothing cause that was just MorganState. He's at the great SU now and that was suppose to make all the difference ...suppose to

The race to become Southern University’s next football coach continues, and William Broussard said he hasn’t determined a favorite.
But he’s getting close.
The Southern athletic director completed phone interviews with six semifinalists this week. Now, the process picks up speed. Broussard will interview finalists face-to-face next week, and he plans to have a recommendation in place by Dec. 14, when the SU System Board of Supervisors holds its next meeting on the Baton Rouge campus.
“We’ve got several folks doing their homework on all our semifinalists,” Broussard said. “Where we are now is, we’re doing some follow-up conversations and ... drilling a little deeper. We’re getting to what the (coach’s) first 45 days would be like, what kind of staff he would want, what his approach would be.”

:lol: They get their hopes up so high. Gosh...it's like watching a Lifetime movie about a kid that always hopes his dad will come pick him up and take him fishing or just spend some time with him. He's sitting on the curb with his fishing pole...waiting on dad. But dad never shows up, b/c dad doesn't love him. "SU Fans"= the kid, and their football program=the dad. No love. :bawling:

I remember when SU fans were excited about Stump. :smh: He was going to run through the SWAC. LSU was scared of what was about to happen at SU when Stump got there. He was going to take over Baton Rouge.
