And this is a weak non-conference year for USC. Last year it was at Arkansas, Nebraska and ND. Next year they add Ohio State to the schedule. Look at all the directional schools the top SEC teams load up on. That's why they usually get shorted in the BSC game.

Yep, I can see how short the SEC was at the end of the season with three BCS team in the top 8. USC played a really tough schedule compare to the those SEC team beating the hell out of each other and knocking each off every other week. You must be kidding, USC playing 8 weakazz PAC10 teams and NEB, ARK and ND is tougher than UFL playing LSU, UT, UA, Auburn and Uga in back to back weeks. The last time I looked USC don't/didn't play a Conference Championship game and, it isn't likely gonna have to play a super ranked team twice, in order to reach the BCS championship games. The BCS CG last year almost had two SEC team in the finals. When the PAC10 and BigTen start playing Championship games you will start to see USC fall from that perch.

I don't see the Pac 10 or the Big 10 playing conference title games anytime in the near future. Bowl Division rules state your conference must have 12 teams to play a championship game, and I don't see either conference adding teams anytime soon, unless Notre Dame loses their NBC deal and joins the Big 10.

The SEC champion has missed out on the BCS title game twice now (LSU and Auburn) because a lot of teams in the conference schedule pathetic non-conference schedules. Auburn killed themselves by playing Western Carolina instead of a 1A team, and some of their fans are still *****ing about "getting screwed" that year.

The point is that, its much tougher to make the BCS CG if you play in either the SEC or Big12. LSU won their BCS game and won the National championship. Call it what you like, but that 2004 Trophy in USC's trophy case is just that, a trophy. The real deal resides in Red Stick which won the BCS CG in the Dome.:swink:

LSU's title was based on pollsters CONTRACTUALLY BOUND to vote them in the top spot.
