SMH, Grambling and Jackson State are adding to the insanity as well.

I done made a 1 million bucks off a SU vs Skegee game (homecoming) hell it will sell itself without the HC stamp

But yet D1 can't travel to D2 schools
2ecm44g.jpg

Man yall need to stop thinking like it's 1998 and start coming up with ideas on how to create money from these match-ups

Where did you attend University and what was your major?

Kool,

I think you are missing the point.

Buffalo wasn't a LSU or Bama either.

You're focusing and missing the point but I digress

you're missing the point. When famu was going up to fbs they had a home game scheduled with oklahoma in Tally. That's ok and not the same as AAMU going to Tuskegee. Its like JMU coming to play a game at Alcorn, 2 teams of the same division playing.
Yall got a dying product that's not making any moves and yall worrying about titles and labels?

Smh.

Man it's all about bringing and getting to the bag, creating something different. What's being done now isn't working.

The average fan wouldn't give 2 shts about SU traveling to Skegee and playing them for their HC. Some may but I tell you what, Skegee HC would be off the chain for them and the bag will be bigger for them.

Going back to my example in post #109, funds could be allocated/distributed on how the deal would be made. But the overall game atmosphere would be something good for black football and both conference/schools

Nobody gives a dayum about D1 vs D2 titles, ppl want to see good product and have a good experience, yall be caught in the wrong thing mane smh. pissing contests when the conference is experiencing a slow death

Look. The only people we care about having enough....are in the swac... and truth be told, that's flexible b/c if a school leaves no one is going to cry behind them (you saw how people reacted when the meac commish was seen on bama state's campus).
If AAMU wants to play games at TU they need to drop down to DII period. alabama aint coming to montgomery to play a football game at alabama state, but because they are on the same level in basketball (theoretically, the have played basketball and baseball in montgomery against the hornets. Mississippi State will play the diamond hornets in montgomery this year).
Tuskegee has got to put food in their own mouth. Its good for them that they were able to trick A&M down there and get all in them. They made money and its good for their program. How does that help the bulldogs? they lost, and they gave up a home game to do so, not to mention their reputation suffered as you can't name another fcs or fbs program that went on the road to play a lower level team.
While you think no one at SU would care if they went on the road to play tuskegee, I think that would be the beginning of the last week on the job for the coach or AD that made that happen. Heads would roll.

1. A&M lost, (did A&M make money and what was the attendance of that game vs Skegee?) That home game that A&M lost, would the attendance for that game been higher/better than the Skegee game?

2. SU and other black ppl who think like that are stuck in 1998 (it's no diss, just reality) If one will roll their heads at SU going to Skegee that one should roll their head and fire the coach for scheduling TCU and these other programs that kick our ass and embarrass us, Let me ask you this, Which one is more embarrassing to a program, A TCU (that will be ranked in the Top 10) beating and possibly hanging 100 on us, They could do this, or us going to Skegee for their HC having a chance to be the spoiler? Which one would be an embarrassment to the program? Let that sit in water before stirring.

3. See my post #109, I explained that schools need to get away from this backward ass thinking of playing every school in the conference, that's boring and doesn't create excitement. That's being stagnant and you're still stuck in 1998. Nobody want to see that sht, and when I say noone, I'm speaking on the kids that are coming into these schools, they want to indulge and see other match-ups, (band-wise) go to another HBCU campus outside of the SWAC.

But really think about point number #2 I presented.

It must be nice to have standards. Our AD has been sabotaging our athletic programs for FIVE YEARS and still has advocates in and outside the building.

I'm really curious to know, since majority of you dudes are dismissing what I'm presenting, how the hell would yall generate funds for your football program Lol

Cuz yall sound just like and thinking just like how these ADs are thinking smh on some 1998 goofy stuff. "oh no, you can't do that, that's not how it should go"

Me: Well why?

Yall: Cuz that's not how it should go, cuz it doesn't feel right, not in the scope of how things have been running

Me: LMAOOO

Man generate 100k-3milli funding pool for your football program without having on the schedule a Power 5 school. Anyone can do this?

See my post #109 if you need some assistance LOL

that game against Tuskegee was never originally suppose to be in Tuskegee.... it was suppose to be in Birmingham or Mobile... SOMETHING happened and it was changed to Tuskegee after we had already hosted them the year before. You are making it seem as if we went in with the impression that we were playing Tuskegee in Tuskegee from the onset.... but hey who cares... we won the game... talked ish to them on THEIR campus and we came home.

We need these discussions, some things may not stick, but at least things are being presented out there.

This is sad, teams scheduling conference teams to play as non-conference games. Smh. This is happening in 2018 smh

Man Look. This aint the wave to be on

And I don't see any issue of yall going there, The game was played, yall won and now Skegee got something on their minds to think about for next year. Imagine if it would have been their HC
2ecm44g.jpg

You may not agree wit my stance, cool, but that would have added more fuel to the fire for next year's matchup

I'm with Kenn. I hate scheduling conference opponents as OOCs, but the SWAC opened that door

They didn't open the door, they just didn't close that loophole.

Let me ask yall this

No shots at Valley

But is traveling to Valley more profitable for A&M, is it a better game? vs A&M traveling to a Skegee on their HC?

Which one would yield the most funds and present an overall game experience for fans?

We talking strictly game atmosphere and events. We'll get to who takes what money later

If this was Valley's HC, it would be Valley hands down. Don't try to match TU's homecoming versus Valleys regular game.

Wait, 10k x 30 dollars a ticket = 300,000 right

Is this 150k split for each school?

Actually it's not since you got to figure in the cost of operations and that has to come out of someone's share.

Why should a D1 school go to a D2 schools place for a game when they can make more hosting this game themselves?

One should have a budget for operational cost from the beginning of the season. Those funds should be already counted for set item and set aside heading into the season, funds should be pulled from the funding pool/account from previous season, Security, Maintenance, Items, etc.

That should be already accounted for

Every game should have a budget on cost of security, anything extra should be pulled which wouldn't be a lot.

But with the addition of parking funds, BOTB, concessions, event, fund-raisers, from the previous year, hell even from this year's game, expenses should be paid. Checks should be cut and dispersed to the schools.

Like man this sht is middle school business 101 LOL.

Ok, again, Valley vs A&M regular game compared to a A&M going to Ske-gee regular game, Which one wins? What game will have a higher attendance?

Man yall make up to many excuses for these dudes, there's no way you can't make stuff pop within these football programs and conference.

The crap is just sad all around.

I think whatever is being done now, needs to be trashed and restarted.

As a matter of fact, when these ADs schedule these games, do they have a financial personnel with them, giving them numbers,, a marketing team creating up ideas to bring in more money with the match-up, or they just on the phone, at the desk, kicked back on some, we go play this school here LMAOO.

I think it'll be good for both programs LMAOO

Man a GSU vs A&M for nothing is pure trash (no diss to any the GSU peeps or A&M peeps) dissing that whole backward ass goofy thinking

Man this is sad smh.

I see you're clueless about how accounts and account payables work, especially for state run entities.

But you want to push your TU agenda.

We gotta know how to make money and stay in the black/green and drive this product/conference.

This aint the wave. Crap is just down-right sad with what has been created.

These ADs older dudes (no diss to the older folks on here, I'ma get old one day too) but these old dudes aint creating residual income for their programs. They so stuck in 1998 and we off that wave. Nobody is thinking like that anymore. Nobody taking any chances, Nobody creating anything.

Your program reflects who you are as a person. Smh. LOL.

Tough love.

Ok, breh.

What I am saying is the model of business, whether who controls what and when it gets dispersed to said entity and placed into what account has nothing to do with how to create money for a product.

You still have to create revenue bottom line. You can hide behind the yellow-tape, state affairs and all that, cool, but at the end of the day, the product is weak and the ideas are old and out-dated.

The death is a slow one and that's a sad sight seeing with a conference that should be well beyond where it's at now. But let's hide behind the state affair run talk to dismiss my point on how to actually create revenue for your program LOL

I see you're clueless about how accounts and account payables work, especially for state run entities.

But you want to push your TU agenda.

Let's do this:

A&M vs TU (HC game) hell SU vs TU game

How much in operational cost are you spending for this Saturday day? Security, concession items, parking attendees, lighting/plumbing/, personal working the game (ticket personnel, concession workers, gate workers,)

What's the total number for this cost?

Remember the stadium only holds what 10k? and we are adding another set of bleachers to push it to 15k

70k-200k?

300k

400k

What's that number?

Valid points. But the scheduling mindset for all schools in the conference isn't the same. What may be good for one school, may not be good for another. Secondly, it needs to be understood, that scheduling nonconference games isn't an easy thing to do. Just because you ask that a school play you doesn't mean that school wants to play you. To simply say that SU and FAMU need to play each other isn't going to cut it.

I may not be crazy about playing P5 schools, but I'm a big fan of playing against G5 schools. I hope Grambling never gets away from doing that. But again, it all comes down to knowing what open dates you have to work with years in advance so that school can schedule accordingly.

Clearly saying SU and FAMU need to play does not cut it. BUT the bottom line to that is that playing is just not that important to either school for whatever reason. If JSU and TNState can play an non-conference game for 30+years, then FAMU and SU could too. The only barrier in that situation is desire and they clearly dont have it.

And I fully understand that scheduling an OOC opponent is not easy. That is why I fully support the 9 game format. Most of these schools dont know what they are doing or simply dont care. Even when you do schedule a fellow FCS opponent, its mainly because their FBS deal fell through. Or they have you waiting to see if they can get a payday before agreeing to the game. And if you manage to sign a fellow FCS opponent, all it takes is a FBS team to come calling and they will drop us. So I fully get that. That is another reason why I am not in support of the FCS vs FBS games. Not only does it make college football far less interesting but it takes away from great match-ups! What is the point in NWState playing USM and Alcorn playing Georgia Tech when NWState could be playing Alcorn and USM could be playing GaTech? I have accepted that the good ole days are gone but that does not mean I have to like it! LOL

But unlike most, I have no problem with in-conference games that do not count. It wouldn't bother me either way but I am not against it. For example, I am sure a lot of JSU fans would rather play Grambling over North Alabama. I am would as excited about either because both would present a good challenge to JSU.

Valley not only is a conference game but it's a division game. You can't forget those factors to make it fit your narrative.

I actually think what you presented is innovative but it opens Pandora's box as far as D2 schools wanting D1 schools to travel to them. That's why WSSU doesn't play A&T or NCCU despite being in the same state. Or even stepping outside of the HBCU realm with Valley and Delta State. We only play them in baseball (and soccer occasionally) because we stopped playing them in basketball and football at their place (Top 5 all time attended football game at their place). If you let WSSU or Skegee get away with it, that would allow others like Miles or Lane to say "hey AAMU or Valley let's do a home and home"

I could understand putting the labels thing aside if it is a local rivalry but Alabama State and AAMU don't do it with Miles or Tuskegee (like we don't do with DSU) despite being local so if they don't do it others shouldn't do it either.

I didn't know the circumstances of how it ended up in Tuskegee. Hell, literally would have frozen over b/f as AD, I'd let my program play on skegee's campus...and I'm from Tuskegee. I would have rented out the new hornet stadium and played on bama st's campus b/f going to tuskegee.

No FCS program should play at a D-2 school period.
No FBS program should play at a FCS school period.

If schools like Tuskegee wants to do home and home series they need to come up to FCS.

Another point...some of you guy's schools have scheduling problems because lets face it...they should be D-2 anyway.

I'm slowly going back to support the 9 game mandate because there is no enforcement when schools break the rules. Just play 2 OOC games and play the entire conference.

or

Bring the SWAC Championship back and play the SCG at the home of the team with the better record. That would mean that every game would count....
