I would have loved for Alcorn to travel to Montana, Iowa, or North Dakota to compete for a championship. I'm pretty sure our players and coaching staff would have loved that opportunity as well.

Why? For a pat on the head from massa when you know damn well the field isn't leveled.

Do we get a pat on the head from massa when we play these money games against PWI??? Did sTu get a pat after beating Michigan State in basketball? What about in baseball? We play PWIs all the time. Or are we just limiting this to football only?

And asked himself who is leaving the tip. :emlaugh:

And that's when the fight starts. :emlaugh:

That joker just might be at a point of craziness where he would break up his own fight with himself and then tell everybody he whipped his own azz. :emlaugh:

This should definitely be his favorite outfit. :emlaugh:

I like the idea of a swac championship game and Legacy Bowl against the meac for the HBCU National Championship. This will bring a lot of money to our universities and national exposure with the bowl game. The only way I would consider the playoffs is if they put the swac vs. meac in the 1st round (limited resource schools) for the Legacy Bowl HBCU National Championship and the winner moves on to the 2nd round.

But would your fans support it?

You can't have it both ways. If your school's been losing money doing what they've been doing over the past decade or so, why keep doing what's been losing you money? That's called financial irresponsibility.

You've been going to the playoffs for the last 15 years and you're still losing money, yet because of mere ego and pride, you want to continue losing money? Even when you do go to the playoffs, your own fans don't bother to go and support the team. That alone speaks volumes about whether or not MEAC folks really care about the playoffs.
MEAC Presidents are finally waking up and smelling the coffee....IF the rumors are accurate. They're tired of throwing away thousands every year.

Get em JayRob!

I would rather play those PWI during non-conference than in the playoffs. Whoever is the home team in the FCS playoffs has to give 75% of their gate to the NCAA (to pay for the visiting teams travel which I don't think includes the band). Unless your school can get 15,000 people in the stands at $20 a ticket and charge for parking then your school will be losing money. The last playoff game I have been to was with my day going all the way up to McComb, IL to see Jackson St. play Western Illinois in the first round of the playoffs. Them folks cheated Jackson St. so bad it did make no sense. Even Walter Payton was in the stands shaking his head. We need to play those PWI in non-conference games and get these VUL, Louisiana College, Faith, and Central Methodist off all our schedule.

So let's play the PWI teams during non conference games, but forget about playing them in the playoffs. OK. That will fix everything. Oh wait, aren't we doing that now?

75% or the bid whichever amount is greater and the NCAA only pays for the coaches and players. Knowing our schools, the presidents and all of them would wanna go and that's what's going to put us in the hole. I would HOPE none of us would go in the hole taking a band and helping them making money by advertising an HBCU band as halftime entertainment for free. That would be hustling backwards just to say that we go to the playoffs

Going with the list of schools he mentioned. ..not really. Add stillman, delta state, the ua-montecello, and any combination of road, game, & tuskegee.

If we are talking about making money, which we are, money games are for CHECKS. The SCG makes us money the playoffs do not. Just for the sake of an academic discussion, I suggest someone posts how much each MEAC team has pocketed from the playoffs since 1999 (The 1st SCG) and show us how it is fiscally responsible to stay in the playoffs...

No we are not doing that now. JSU played FAMU, TNState and Lynchburg and 9 SWAC teams last year. This year we play TNState and a 1-A school. I prefer a 7 game format where each SWAC school gets to play 4 OOC games. If we can go 20-20 or 25-15 vs other 1-AA schools, that hold a LOT more weight than ONE school going to the playoffs likely to play a #1 seed and lose. A lot of times when JSU went to the playoffs, we played the top team. We probably could have beat some of the other teams in the field.

Did you just say the SWAC and fiscally responsible in the same sentence?

A lot of HBCU alums and fans don't support what we have now so what's your point.

The facts disagree with you. The SCG averages at least 25,000 or better when the weather's good. The average home attendance at the average FCS playoff game is usually under 10,000.

I'm amazed by some of the comments being made on the MEAC message board on the possibility of the MEAC leaving the playoffs. Instead of viewing this as an opportunity, they'd rather look at this as a setback. :smh:

They are all about pleasing white America and 99.998% of America has never heard of the 1-AA playoffs... :smh:
