Speaking of that play....I saw a lil extension in Odem's arm, looking like he was trying to throw an elbow. Looked like he had a lil intent other than just dunking on that play.

Could be sum'n...Could be nutt'n....:noidea: But, I know what it looked like...ibtchball.

 @ Blade

ummm SOGGY,
The refs were HORRIBLE. :scared:

Naw MH, the bottom line is this...

Before this series even started, it was already understood that the Rockets were a more "physical" team. In game 1, it was said how the Rockets took advantage of the Lakers in the paint because of how big and "physical" they were.

Now get get to game 2. Kobe clowns the hell out of Battier. The Laker defense steps up and in the process...D. Fisher (of all people) knocks Scola on his ass. Kobe punks RA...again. The Lakers were more physical than the Rockets last night and as a result...won the game. But now folks on here are crying (Artest included) about the Lakers playing "bitchball"....man please.

Its the playoffs gott dammit!

LOL. I don't know if he was crying. Artest was trying to not say too much that was crazy......even though that is a hard thing for him to do.

I know Kobe is trying to get inside his head......but that would be the last dude I would want to fugg with on the Rockets team. Artest aint mentally right and if he snaps he might try to fugg Kobe up for real. He aint like Rodman was...just being a clown and it was all show for him. This dude aint wrapped too tight. You can look at that dude in the eyes and see he aint all there. If I was the Lakers I would tread lightly in Houston. Just play their typical style of ball. The Rockets can't really outscore them, but if they get caught up trying to play that hard physical type of game.......they may get themselves in trouble. Bynum, Odom, Gasol, Sasha, Walton are not most hard type cats. Not that they should play like punks but they just don't need to get baited into playing Houston's game.

Get the popcorn ready.......and if they win this series......they will have the same isht with Denver. LOL at how the West done got a little harder now.

yep that sums up my thoughts. i am so into this series now.

:goof:
If you actually believe that....then, you're definitely a Lakers fan....

Since you used my word "bitchball"...I'll say this. There's a difference between physical, playoff ball and bitchball. Lakers played bitchball, in game 2, in desperation of getting a game in LA. The same type of game I accuse Utah and sometimes SA for playing....LA played it in Game 2. Way beyond hard-nosed physical playoff b-ball.

But, hey...the Rockets gotcha. *rolls the ball out to the Lakers*....Play Ball...

I'll leave you with this stream of logic, Soggy....

If you're not known for being a physical team...and, all of a sudden a game like that breaks out with a known physical team....it ain't the already physical team that did anything different from game 1 to game 2.

...on to game 3.

Wow....its some Jackson State kinda hate going on up in here

Look, GR is a diehard Laker fan, but GR still gotta tell the truth...

If you look at the elbow situation, the ref called the foul and had his back turned when Kobe threw the elbow. For me, not only should Kobe have thrown the elbow, he should have thrown another one. The Lakers are too soft. Gasol is too soft...and thats the Lakers whole problem. The Lakers should offset his softness by putting Mbenga in to knock somebodys ass off.

The whole country is just soft now. You cant start schit or be a rough players and run your ass to the ref when somebody gets rough with you. Scolla started a bunch of mess and flopped when D Fish put hat bow on his ass. You cant foul hard and pull on folks jerseys and then act innocent when its your turn.

GR one of these cats in this thread or one of the many thread said Kobe tried to take out Yao's knee in game one. Okay the man was dribbling the ball to the paint. He get's triple team and passes the ball out to a open teamate while bumping knees with Yao...I mean the hate is sickening.

It was a routine play and somebody said Kobe tried to take him out. Mofo's see what they want to see. Kind of like a Conservative Gay Rebublican if you ask me..

Here is another perspective for me....

Ron Artest is a coward. Kobe was lighting his ass up and instead of sticking in there and taking his medicine, he took the easy way out and got kicked out of the game. He said himself, he knew he would get a Tech, so if that was your plan why not make your point and then step away so you dont get thrown out of the game. He got thrown out on purpose and left Battier out there to get abused. He didnt want no parts of Kobe. He knew Kobe was about to go off like last time in Houston.

One thing I cant stand is a FN coward. And thats what Artest is. Yes he is a top player, but he is a coward....this is the second time Ive seen him do a coward move. If the fight in Detroit, he was mauled and pushed by Ben Wallace, instead of manning up to Ben Wallace, he ran and laid down on the table and thats when the guy threw the beer on him.

He was quick to run and jump on that 5 10" guy, but he didnt want no parts of Ben Wallace....FN coward

That coward came out again last night....he didnt want no parts of being embarrassed on national TV.

LOL @ GR. How long has JR been telling you that they don't make em like that use too. :D

You are right. Even though I think L.A. will win the series. Most of the Lakers are softer than Charmin. They don't watch it, they will get their arse eliminated by either Houston or Denver. Denver gone try the same rough stuff. I was lol at Odom grinning and skinning. That mofo don't scare nobody. I bet the Lakers can't wait to unload his arse this off season. Man if yall had Artest and maybe one other hard brother...........it would be a wrap for the title.

Hey GR...

Are you really comparing Scola pulling on a jersey to Fisher measuring Scola for an elbow to the sternum?

No doubt...Im entertained by the rest of your post. But, can you please answer that for me.

You cant address most of the folks on this board. Most of them have no clue about basketball or sports at all. You cant address folks who spend most of their time trying to say the meanest things that come to mind. The other folks try to stand out by saying the opposite of popular opinion.

Most of these Jordan lovers where too young to remember Jordan playing. They have NO CLUE about the Mid 90s.

So if you are going to try to be logical with most of these folks about Kobe, you are on your own.

Well shawiggi is 33 and 25 days from 34 and I saw plenty of rough playoff series. I mean The Knicks and the Pistons were some dirty Mofo's. The Celtics were really dirty. Dennis Johnson(RIP), Bird, Parish and the Minnesota Looser(mcHale) all were dirty. But that Jordan was something else. Not comparing him to anybody but how do you guys think they finally got over that Detroit Hump. Scottie and Jordan had to put some hands on Isaih, the Microwave and them. Bottom line some necks dayum near got broke going to the hole..

I saw it all.

JR.

I could not even see these soft arse teams playing the New York Knick's that Jordan had to go against.
Can you imagine these soft arse mofo's having to play through hand checks, elbows, and being put on the floor hard like Magic, Bird and Isiah had to go through.
The X-man, would have people scared to come out the locker room in today's NBA.

The laker's damm near tore Isiah Thomas eye out.
Dude had blood flowing like strawberry soda on the floor.
He just sucked it up and came back out in that game and torched my Laker's with a bad leg and one eye.
All they called was a tech.

Who can forget the Laker's/Boston series when Boston was flooring my Lakers.
Specifically Kirt Rambus when he got undercut and put up into row #1.
What did Pat Riley say after Game 1.
"WE COMMING OUT PHYSICAL IN THE NEXT GAME".
Anybody that came near the goal after that risked going to the hospital.
The laker's started hammering people and Boston was giving it right back.
Nobody wehinned about anything.

:retard:...wtf does that have to do with Lakers v Rockets? That was Adelman v Wafer...cuz, Wafer hasn't made THAT much of an impact on the series to make it about the Lakers v Rockets.

Stick to the subject, Du'Mass.

Point Blank...Kobe and the Lakers played ibtch ball last night. Very Utahish. I can't believe some of you are actually defending it. Call it what it was....ibtchball.

Don't talk that "it's old school ball" bs. Cuz, I was on the NBA back then too. And, there's a difference between hard-nose and ibtchball

Artest and Kobe did nothing out of the ordinary when going for that rebound, UNTIL, Kobe threw the bow. Doesn't matter where it landed. He threw it...it landed...and, the dude that got hit got called for a foul. Eventually, getting kicked out for it. Dat's dat bullisht....period.

Where's J4L? That's the only Laker fan that talks about what he sees on tv, instead of going with the usual Laker rhetoric.

Dude, what the hell are you bitchin' about now?! You whining worse than Pro-test. Sheesh!! Your coach can't even control his own player, much less what the Lakers do.

Yall were lucky to win game one. In the end, you know what the result is going to be, another loss by the Rockets to the Lakers.

He who lives by the three dies by the three. By game five the Rockets legs will begin to feel like logs and those easy three's they're getting now will begin to fall short. It's only a matter of time. They won't continue to shoot 60 percent.:emlaugh:

They're just trying to look good while losing.

I think the whole world knew the refs would insert themselves into this series. The moment I saw Joey Crawford out there, I knew what was up.

I think the Rockets are the stronger team. The Lakers are Charmin soft. Everything about them is finesse. Finesse is okay for one-game matchups, but not during series matchups against physical teams. There are some physically impressive teams in the mix this year. The Lakers played well last night and still couldn't put Houston away until all the ridiculous technicals and such began. The Rockets didn't fold when it would've been easy to mail it in. That was significant.

The odds are not great that:

1. Kobe will have many games like last night's game. He was truly on fire and in rare form. That was an exceptional performance.

2. Yao will be a complete non-factor like he was last night. (Unless he's saddled with foul trouble the duration of this series.)

3. Role players who were key to last night's win (ie., Farmar, Walton, and that Sasha dude) will play that well for the duration. Odds are they'll revert back to being themselves.

Dude, the role players didn't play that well and neither did Odom. Folks just getting all worked up cause the Lakers lost game one.

The Lakers swept this same team four straight games in the regular season and there's no reason why they won't pull this series out in six or less.

You failed to mention that Houston's role players had career highs and shot almost 60 percent from the field. How many times will that happen? Around game five, the real Houston will show up. They're playing over their heads right now.

I guess what they say about people like JayRob is true. For them...it's always 5 o'clock somewhere.

 @ lucky to win Game 1.

Jordan and Pippen finally got by the Pistons cause Stern instituted some rules that made it a crime to touch Jordan on the way to the whole. Thats when this flagrant foul stuff started. The Pistons use to whip the Bulls ass so bad that Scottie brought a note to Phil saying he didnt want to play cause he had headaches.

flagrant fouls have their place and it stops the game from being a wrestling match like the Knicks/Heat was. But that has really softened up the game too much.

Did you se Rondo go down the lane and dunk with Howard standing right there. Howard was suppose to either block that shot or give him a chest full of ass. That was so soft. David Stern, GR hates you

LOL, I'm sure that's what Phil was telling his squad at halftime last night.

You're a Lakers fan. I'm sure you believe that they're infallable and nothing anyone says will bring doubt to your mind. So be it.

But the Lakers are far from infallable.... They definitely lack something. Honestly, I think they looked better last year. Regular season games (when teams are going through the motions and finding their identities) have nothing to with the playoffs, other than the seeding order.

Take the Rockets lightly if you wanna. That team is obviously in sync at the right time and dangerous. Stevie Wonder can see that.

Dude, i hope they dont give Odom a bunch of money. They dumped some salary to make salary cap room, but i wouldnt give Odom a bunch of money. I would say thanks but no thanks. But I have a feeling they are going to give him a 3 or 4 year deal. That wont be good for the future of the Lakers. Odom is the dumbest ass player I have ever seen.

And when is he going to reach the POTENTIAL he supposedly has. Totally over rated.

Scottie Pippen send help

If folks would look at the video before Kobe's elbow, you'd see that Artest had his forearm in the back of Kobe's head.

Enough said! Most people are Laker Haters. Artest was just embarassed by Kobe and what was the tech, Crawford called on Kobe, because he told "Shame" "You can't guard me" now was Kobe telling a lie?

Cosign.

Someone said something to effect that Odom didn't play well last night.

Does he ever play well??? That dude is the poster child for inconsistent play. He was simply being himself-- undependable and waaaaay overrated.

HBCU

I think the Lakers problem is they have too many pretty boys in the game at the same time. Youdont have to have 5 scorers in the game. Make one of them a rough neck and tell him to get the rebound. Sit Bynams punk ass down and quit waiting on him to develop while youare trying to win a championship. Put Mbenga in the game and tell him to get the rebound and thats it.

Gasol is only going to get rebounds that come righto to him. Take that responsibility away from him. I would always have Powell or Mbenga in the game to carve out space under the board. It would make it so easy for the rest of the players.

But you are wrong in part of your recap. The Lakers are playing poorly right now and the series is tied. Odom and Ariza haent shown up yet and Gasol cant really do anything with Yao checking him. he cant back Yao down, so that takes away half of his game.

Game 3 is going to be very important...if Houston loses that one, its over.

I think yall done fired Kobe up....aint no stopping him now.
