Uh, no.

That's odd I remember my junior year in the band a guy from JSU came spoke to us right before the SU/JSU game in 98 to tell us how much they enjoyed and admired SU program.. So I find it hard to believe SU couldn't atleast be close to you all, which leads be to believe it is hard to believe SU wasn't better than you all....:uzi:

I dunno who that speaker was or if he was connected with the Boom. But 1998 is a long way off from 1981-82, my senior year. That doesn't mean anything to me.

Naw the guy that spoke marched for JSU from 78 or 79 up to about 82 or 83.. Which ever one it was around that time and he did say he did 4 years at JSU.. Honestly he gave the impression SU was better than JSU... Maybe he felt like he had to say some of the things he was saying because he was in our bandroom.. But than again, he didn't have to say anything... So the fact he said what he said, must mean he felt like he HAD to say it becuase that was deep in his heart...

Hush negro. Admiring/enjoying a program has nothing to do with saying one program is better than another. What you heard was maturity from one who respects another's craft...... Plain and simple...now hush up! :smash:

He said more than that... He also said how much he wished he was on the other side of the stadium when ever he heard the sound of SU band... Dude was basically giving up the cookies... I respect him because he kept it real, we had some upperclassmen clowning him, saying.. "SU must have really been spanking yall" for you to come say what you are saying".. we had a rough crowd in our band back then... But they let him through his speech, I had respect for the cat, cause he seemed very sincere...

Alright i'm curious at everyone's view of each other. I don't know if this post has been done before but, there are ten bands in the swac, i wanna know what year do you consider to be each bands best year(if you have nothing to say about themjust don't them down, i'm not trying to start any crap) here's my example:

JSU - 95, 97, 02
Su- 93, 97, 86
ALCORN- 95
Prarie- 99, 02 ,05
AAMU- 97, 02, 06
UAPB- 02,04, 05
TXSU- 85, 04, 06
ALABAMA STATE UNIVERSITY 91, 95, 98, 99

OTS:
BCC 00, 03, 04
Fam 86, 89, 94

Now before anyone starts any crap, if I didn't mention your band for a more up to date year, it doesn't mean any thing. I just put three years for each band I enjoyed the best(except I know I put 4 for bama state)
Off the top of my head:
JSU - 95, 99, 2000 - 2006
SU - 84, 87, 88, 89, 92, 95,96, 98,99, 2000 - 2006
Alcorn - 84, 85, 97
PV - (I liked them when I first saw them in 85) 88, 90, 94, 95, 2003, 2004
UAPB - 2003, 2004, 2006
TXSU - 85, 86, 87
Alabama State - 1977, 79, 82, 85, 93, 2005
Grambling - 1981 - 87, 89, 90 - 94, 96, 97, 99, 2003

I got to talk about Tenn State 1984, 2001 When I saw them.
BCC,...how can I say this,....today,...a major major threat!!!! The new wave.
