hell yeah!...when these cats came out...I was the first one to buy the tape from Bowies Record Store. That tape was worth every penny ($10.99)

Well,....it's pretty obvious how I feel about this subject.
I don't listen to the radio!!!!!
I hate rap/crap period!!!!
Mostly everyone tries to sing alike.
There are a few out there today that is seriuos about their craft but, for the most part,.....today's music sucks!!!!
No iriginality!!!!!
They should have never cut the funding of the arts in public schools. Now look what we've got.
We got a society of young people who can't create nor think on their own!!!!:shame: :smh:
You also got a society of people who rather drink dirty water instead of clean water all because you have to work a little harder to make it clean!!!! :smh:

I disagree with the Gospel. The new school is taking Old School R&B and selling it as Gospel. "Mary Mary" is sampling the Honey Cones "Stick Up" and Kirk Franklin has made a living off Old School R&B.

I didn't take this thread to be about the songwriting or music. My comments were isolated to singing except for jazz music.

I think we agree about the content of Pop/Rhythm & Praise.

I remember when the Grammy and American Music Awards nights used to be very exciting to watch. Aretha Franklin, The Winans, Andre Crouch, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Lionel Ritchie has gotten numerous awards. Not exciting like it used to be.

How many times can we debate this same issue! Seriously, of course we are going say the old singers are better....we are old. And no matter what you do you are going to always think that your era was the best era. Music, sports, etc.

It's not a debate, it's a fact. Todays commercial music sounds sorry. Age don't have a nam thang to do wit it. There should be no correlation between age and having good music taste. When I was nine, I like Parliment and Steely Dan. If it's good, it's good. I like the O'Jays, Curtis Mayfield, and The Spinners. I could go on and this is when I was in the single digits. Todays stuff is just mess.

These kids today are just giving away their money. :smh:
