Suge
The Phat Mack
I am sort of disturbed by the overwhleming trend that seems to be developing in regards to our new President. It seems that if a person does not support Obama in all things, the next label is that they are a racist, or some type of self hating African American. My question is why are these the only two choices?
Obama is the president, and like all before him, he will be loved by some and hated by others. He will be criticized, no matter what he does, yet in our current climate, it seems that if you disagree with him in any manner, you are instantly judged by the masses as being against him due to race. Isn't taking that mentality in direct opposition to the idea of being judged by our character? Can't you support someone, but not support everything they do?
I am no fool, I know there are those that are in disagreement with President Obama because of his racial background, but I am also smart enough to know that not everyone can be placed in one box. I also understand that time will judge his 8 years in office like it has all past presidents, but during this time, is it unpatriotic to criticize the president? That mentality is akin to the logic the GOP tried to spin when folks criticized Bush.......which I felt was silly then too.
Just curious........
