Well LS, maybe they wanted to give the folks in the East a little bit of hope.

If you look at the number in parenthesis, JSU almost has four times as many as AAMU. I believe that's the more realistic number.

I believe MH voted multiple times cause I don't know how in the hell Bama State is voted to finish ahead of Alcorn.:smh:

hey jr and the rest of you su folks

gr is not a fan of preseason polls...they are a necessary evil.....but why come it is that no one sees your greatness but you?

grambling is chosen number 1. they lost their best wrs, their rbs are average, the qb is below average, they lost key players on defense.....yet they have been chosen over mighty su. why is that? yall on here yapping about how great yall are, how fast your wrs are blah blah blah.....but aint nobody impressed but su folks. doesn't su have the two best qbs in the swac....don't yall have mcnair on the bench?

all that talent (that aint nowhere near campus) yet no one thinks much of su but su. gr guesses yall are going to have to make believers out of us (for the 4th year in a row).

btw....del roberts is the most over rated player in the history of the swac. he hot garbage

do u really like your chances against mighty jsu this year? are you just blowing smoke like these other folks? in my opinion you are about to see the see the difference in talent. you are going to see how recruiting 5 player (only two showed up, thanks hill) is going to hurt your program.

maybe you will have a revamped team cause you don't want to come to jackson with that same team. and please don't bring that lil rb back. I knew eventually yall were going to have to bring a stretcher to scrape him off the field. your other players were gassed too. most of them just layed on the field and waited for the trainer eventhough they weren't hurt, just exhausted ....

this year not only will you get the same beatdown, but you will get blown out on the scoreboard too.

BIRMINGHAM ? The Jackson State Tigers were treated like champions at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Media Day on Tuesday.

A constant flow of reporters sat down to talk with coach Rick Comegy, linebacker Marcus Smith and offensive lineman Mikael Harshaw - while other coaches and players sitting around the interview room looked bored at times. Comegy's introduction at the SWAC luncheon was saved for last, and a SWAC highlights video was filled with Tiger footage.

Comegy is telling all you "smalltimers" that it's on now!

"We didn't accomplish everything we wanted to do," Comegy said. "We want to better ourselves ... more wins, less losses, more points on the board and fewer scored against us.

"There's no doubt the goal is a SWAC championship. But it would be beautiful to win more than we did last year. Undefeated is a special thing that's very hard to do."

We lost our top two RB's.
We lost our top three WR's.

And we still got over 3 times as many votes as the "other" team (thanks, Black).

So my question is: is JSU just that well-respected and admired by our SWAC counterparts or do the rest of yall just suck that bad?

Who said I was hyped? I just asked a question, that's all. Less than a month ago, everyone was in here with a poll from every publication pointing out how JSU was nowhere to be found. Yet, we have here a poll (that entails votes from our SWAC peers) that has JSU in 1st place by a landslide.

If I'm not mistaken, AAMU (our only "threat") returns their top RB, top WR, etc., etc. but they're an afterthought. So I'm just wondering if JSU is that well-respected or is the EAST garbage like some of us have been saying for the longest. :confused:
 
Of JSU's four losses last year, three came against teams JSU was favored to beat - Delta State, Tennessee State and Prairie View.

LS Syndicate.... not sure how long you have been around, but EVERY year the defending Champ is given the head nod. This is nothing different and means nothing. Check out the preseason standings from the last 5 years.

as for the "no respect" part, that happened last year. When yall got absolutely NO respect. 3 MEAC teams (the utter sadness and shame of it all), <font size=6>*</font>, and not to mention that Okra raping (after you ran from them for MANY years and please don't think folks haven't noticed how you hauled arse away from them this year and you chose to pick on lil ole Stillman College :smh: )
