Nigeria shocks US men's basketball team with historic upset in Olympic tune-up game

Right now, Team USA is struggling with a Spain team led by Ricky Rubio and 41 year old Pau Gasol lol

So the women's team is 0-2 in exhibitions, too. LOL

Of course they are-those women play year round and in the same league as the women they are facing. Some of those rosters are nothing but players from various leagues and many of them left the WNBA to train for the games. One WNBA could barely field a roster because more players were leaving to train.

No one is going to panic about them because it's been there done that with many of them.

Going to be a tough road for Team USA

The world is saying.....

I don't remember what thread it was in or what board it was on, but I said before they played a game, exhibition or otherwise, that I was not feeling this team. The U.S. could still win the gold, but..........

And three key players — Holiday, Bucks teammate Khris Middleton and Phoenix's Devin Booker — played in the NBA Finals last week and didn’t reach the team hotel until a little after 1 a.m. Sunday, less than 18 hours before tip.

Those excuses are about all the U.S. has to hang its hat on right now.

And Holiday was the spark that got them the lead down the stretch only for them to fold down the stretch

It's as if there wasn't a US coach with international experience that won an NBA title recently that knows the international game (David Blatt)

Oh that's right. They ran him back to Europe.

C'mon world teams, continue to beat usa basketball silly. lol

The weaknesses of the nba (non-ballers association) are highly evident in a sport meant for team play.

Fundamentals always prevail. Stay preaching that to youngers.

Nick Nurse of The Raptors says HI.
Dwayne Casey who runs clinics in Japan during the Summer say HI.
Mike Brown says HI.

And it's NOT like they couldn't find guys in the USA who KNOW the international market. Oh there were guys who knew that and everyone made fun of them for going after white guys from Germany. Donnie Nelson says HI.

Everybody has caught up. While out kids want to be Lebron, Curry or Ben Simmons-everyone else is focusing on the fundamentals and not having their behinds KISSED all day long.

The same players who fans would RUN OUT of town if their team signed them are now taking your best guys on and putting up fights.

Every skill trainer, parent and coach wants their tall kid to be Kevin Durant. Nothing wrong with that except now, we have NO real post players in American basketball. For all the "small ball" talk, CHAMPIONSHIP teams still can throw the ball inside when necessary.
