New Mexico Safety Arrested

Re: Baggy pants lead to arrest of US Airways passenger

Let him get on the plane, sit down and go to sleep.
And by simply pulling up his pants, all of that would've happened. And there would be no arrest and no story.

btw, at work today, our interns will be having a belt fitting.

That's different...you're at work. He's getting on a plane.

Re: Baggy pants lead to arrest of US Airways passenger

He's getting on a plane.
Which is also a business. If he didn't wanna comply with the request, he should've simply left. And let his pants hang off his arse somewhere else. But he stays there and argues for 15 minutes. And gets arrested. :retard:

There are some worthwhile and noble battles to fight, but just how noble is a fight to be allowed to let your pants hang off your arse?

He was asked to pull up his pants. He is a grown man. His dumbazz should have complied. Now his dumbazz got arrested over something dumb.

His pants shouldn't have been down to begin with. Pants below this BUTT and showing his boxers?

Good for US Airways!

In this hightened security when it comes to flying, you will NOT win an argument. Bottom line. He argued back and forth with them for 15 minutes; you can not even jokingly say something for 1.5 seconds without being removed from a plane.

Hope this was a lesson learned.

Re: Baggy pants lead to arrest of US Airways passenger

Kudos to US Airways!!! If you cant follow rules - take the bus!

A 20-year-old man booked on US Airways was eventually arrested after he refused to pull up his baggy pants, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Deshon Marman, a football player at the University of New Mexico, was boarding a flight in San Francisco on Wednesday when the incident happened.

That's when The Associated Press says a US Airways worker noticed his pants were "below his buttocks, but above the knees, and his boxer shorts were showing."

The employee asked Marman to pull up his pants for the flight, but -- after a series of back-and-forth exchanges -- he was asked to leave the plane and the police were called.

Is Deshon Marman an example of a Real Black Man?

Man yall funny. Those same rednecks will cheer for him on Sunday and call him a ninja that night. White folks think you are the same if your pants are down or up.

If folks can allow themselves to be groped and scanned down to their bones, he should've had the sense to simply take two seconds to pull up his pants or leave the airport. With the heightened sensitivity in airports these days due to allegations of terrorism, folks are being asked to do the unusual in order to comply with airport and federal guidelines.
Now look where he is.

If that's the case, he would've been better off pulling up his pants to begin with.

Re: Baggy pants lead to arrest of US Airways passenger

I bet he had a belt on too.

Honestly. Some battles aint worth fighting, he should have just pulled em up and sat down. Plus..until I see women running around with pants below their butt showing all the thongs and boy shorts then I can't approve. But I will approve if they allow that to happen.:tophat:

This shouldn't have been such a big issue. I see both sides in a sense.

He was probably thinking, "I made it through security and have been walking around this airport for an hour and nobody said anything about my pants. Why now?"

On the other hand, he could have just pulled them up until the fight took off, at least.

Pull up your pants and we are not even having this discussion... It is embarrassing to our race... I applaud the airline... Follow the rules, you don't have an issue...

Re: Baggy pants lead to arrest of US Airways passenger

The dude was coming from a funeral. Ain't no telling what was on his mind. As usual some pecker had something to say, now the sell outs all happy. leave the kid alone.

Sell outs? So that makes me sellout for applauding SWA for doing this??
:smh: ..i agree to an extent to what SWA did. Like I said in another thread, not everyone accepts this saggin trend/fashion statement. SWA had a right to do this. It wasn't the saggin that got him arrested, it was him arguing with the SWA officials (and airport security) that got him arrested.

im jes sayin...

That is good point, Jay. He was cool with the TSA telling him to remove his belts, shoes and/or jacket then possibly be patted down before boarding the plane. But no way could he pull his pants up when asked?

I understand everyone saying pull up your pants...I get that, no problem.

I'm still trying to picture this young man, in the gate area...boarding the plane about to hand his ticket to the agent and, with all the hustle and bustle going on in the area, the agent STOPS and says "pull up your pants"!! GTFOH!!

I don't know...maybe it was a slow day and the agent didn't have shyt else to deal with but when I'm boarding a plane most times an agent is grabbing a ticket, scanning and saying "enjoy your flight". I slowly walk my ass down the "thingy" before the plane...stop b/c there's a line of people then proceed slowly to my seat. who really looks at what somewhere is wearing?!?!

That's why I think they are tripping. Again...I could understand it more if he was stopped while walking through the airport.

let's play the "What if" game. What if he was rushing when he went through TSA and didnt have time to put his belt back on?

 An airline agent stopping a young black man while boarding a plane to tell him to pull up his pants. Even in Jackson's little bitty airport that seems far-fetched to me.

Yall happy this young brother now has a felony for sagging pants. He will not be able to qualify for a job or anything federal for sagging pants. Losing voting rights and all federal aid for sagging pants. Yall can't be this blind, then again yall are into it is your child. Don't worry your day is coming also..............

That part is unfortunate. But you have to ask yourself...was that 15 minutes arguing your point how one wears his jeans/pants worth it? These kids have to learn at an early age to pick their battles. Sometimes you gotta grit your teeth, say nothing and move on. Gotta see the bigger picture here.

Simply put, adhere to their "guidelines" and none of this would have happened.

Gotta learn to pick your battles. If that was me and I had been arrested because I refused to pull my pants up when asked, my folks would have pimped slapped me.

:retard:

So is the battle that he's a black man walking through the airport and he has to know better or is the battle that he shouldn't have his pants sagging?!?!

B/c if the battle is number 1, or even part of #1...then you're kind of agreeing with me...the agent was fugging with him b/c he's black.

we're talking about an airline agent here...not TSA security or airport cop. An Airline Agent!!

When has an AIRLINE AGENT ever stopped you to tell you anything about rules other than how many bags you can take on the plane?!?!?!

I was in Nashville's airport waiting on Southwest flight...when you had to stand in line for your spot vs. now with the number on the boarding pass. I left my bag in line while I was sitting probably 20 ft. away. The airline agent saw the bag the whole time it was sitting there for at least 15 mins didn't say anything. An Airport cop came over and told me I had to be with the bag. No problem...i stood with the bag.

The purpose of the story above is not the fact that I complied with the police officer and didn't go back and forth...the point is that the AIRLINE AGENT said nothing!

I travel often and I've NEVER been give a rule by an airline agent. :shame:

Like I said earlier, if dude was willing to go through security and the inspections that go along with that, he should have no problem taking a few seconds to pull up his pants.

They don't get it SS. This is bigger than sagging pants. This is the typical jealous others, who is mad because that boy plays football. You folks gotta learn to open your eyes and look at the bigger picture. He was already on the plane. With him sitting down. Why did his pants matter?
