I don't agreee with the descision about PAC MAN JONES but don't just make him out of an example. The NFL is racist and the new owner is a racist and Pac Man don't deserve to be out an whole year. This crap has been going on for years in the NFL now they want to take action. NFL is white executives trying to run a black machine and Gene Upshaw is just a token pawn in the league.
Or Chris Henry.BTW, as C-Leb alluded too.........How is the Mickey Dean watch going? Tell him don't be hanging around Pac Man Jones if he still wants to be the first rb drafted. :hat:

Let some cases pop up on your current job and see how fast you are shown the door. It's a job and you cannot continue to bring that mess to the job.
^^Are you saying the punishment is too severe?
I ain't an NFL player nor a professional athlete. We can't do a lot of things they get away with on the job.
Goodell strengthens personal conduct policy
NEW YORK (AP) - NFL teams will be disciplined when their employees, including players, violate the league's personal conduct policy.
Moments after announcing the one-year suspension of Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, and an eight-game ban for Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released his strengthened conduct policy Tuesday. Along with longer suspensions and larger fines for individuals who violate the policy, Goodell will hold teams responsible, as well.
He did not say how he would punish those teams, although stripping them of draft choices is considered one of the most effective ways to do so.
"It is important that the NFL be represented consistently by outstanding people as well as great football players, coaches, and staff," Goodell said. "We hold ourselves to higher standards of responsible conduct because of what it means to be part of the National Football League. We have long had policies and programs designed to encourage responsible behavior, and this policy is a further step in ensuring that everyone who is part of the NFL meets that standard. We will continue to review the policy and modify it as warranted."
The strengthened standards apply to all NFL employees: players, coaches, officials, owners, front-office and league personnel. And Goodell emphasized in the new policy that those standards will be considerably tighter than outside the league.
"It is not enough to simply avoid being found guilty of a crime," the new policy says. "Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the league is based, and is lawful.
"Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime."
The new policy comes in the wake of a series of off-field issues involving several players, notably Jones, Henry and Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson.
There were 10 occasions in which Jones was interviewed by police, the most recent during the NBA All-Star weekend in Las Vegas. Police there recommended felony and misdemeanor charges against Jones after a fight and shooting at a strip club left one man paralyzed.
Henry was arrested four times in a 14-month span, and received a two-game league suspension last year. He was one of nine Bengals arrested in nine months. Johnson currently is in jail, serving four months for violating probation in a 2005 gun case.
Two of Henry's teammates, along with NFL Players Association executive director Gene Upshaw, recognized the need for stronger league guidelines for player conduct.
Rest of Story
And long overdue. This is significant in so many different ways.
Which once again this is a GOOD thing. Just because you are a pro athlete, an entertainer , politician - whatever...that makes you no better than me. As my grandfather would say - I put my pants on one leg at a time just like you. If I were deemed a menance at my job - whether I have been arrested or not - but I continue to do things that bring embarrassment to my employer - they will get rid of me without blinking an eye. As much as we would not like to think of it - we are all replaceable - quickly. So you must do what you have to do to maintain your place, at the least.
I won so much money from fools when Clarett was tryin to sue the NFL to go pro. The NFL or any other league has the right to set the terms for employment with them. The position of NFL Player has a job description just like any other job any place else -and if the Requirments for employment for that particular position state that you have to at the very least stay off of the police blotter for 2 consecutive months - then you have to adhear to that. You cant sue them for RULES for employment with their company. You can sue them for LAWS that might be violated when it comes to terms for employment with their company - but to this point the NFL has not violated any LAWS along those lines.
And if I were the new commish I still would have made him the example.I would have given him 8 games.
This following quote spoke volumes.....
"We must protect the integrity of the NFL," Commissioner Goodell said. "The highest standards of conduct must be met by everyone in the NFL because it is a privilege to represent the NFL, not a right. These players, and all members of our league, have to make the right choices and decisions in their conduct on a consistent basis."
I am not mad at the NFL. Unlike the punk NBA who allows their players to do whatever until that fight broke out with the Piston fans and the Pacers. The NFL has spoken. No......your young arses will not be able to enter the draft and now.......your young punk arses will not be able to do whatever you like off the field and represent my business. These cats would have been gone in corporate America. Let any of us get arrested that many times and our jobs find out. Out the door we go. I have seen far less than that get folks let go. yes indeed!
This is a good lesson for the next set of spoiled and I can do anything I want players to see what happens if you act a fool. Pac Man Jones own people/relatives have been quoted as saying that you can't tell him nothing. Oh well..........the NFL just did. I hope he got some of that 80 grand he was making it rain with back. He gone need it with no paycheck coming this year.
Chris Henry is lucky in my mind........he should have been suspended for the season as well. He has actually been convicted before. His rep must have pleaded a better case for him. LOL. Well hopefully for their sakes they stay away from their boys and other bad elements they like to run with it so they can get back to playing ball. They make Ricky Williams look like an angel for smoking a little weed here and there.
And if I were the new commish I still would have made him the example.
This is business, not personal. Football is all about business-this Pac and Chris as an example is all about the business.
What we have all learned in the corporate, or government working world is there is a set of rules that are written and a set unseen. And we all have learned to flow with the game, and keep our jobs at the same time. We couldn't do ANY of that mess and blame on it on the crowd we run with, let alone trying to act like we didn't know the game was there to begin with.
But isn't 8 games a serious example? It would be the first anyway. Jamal Lewis was suspended 4 games after a CONVICTION and PRISON time served.
Las Vegas police may bring (more?) charges to Pac behind the shooting at the strip club. What he had to do with it is still not concrete, beyond the rain dance. I can't speak to what happened cause I wasn't there. But a man got paralyzed, and somebody has to take the fall for that. But isn't 8 games a serious example? It would be the first anyway. What's the signifcance of 8 games vs a whole season?
How many of us could bring all this drama out in the public and still have a job to go to after a year? After 8 months.Yeah the person who shot him.
But really look at it... Tank Johnson is in jail right now and not suspended. Many other players have been CONVICTED of crimes and not suspended.
8 games would have been an "example" too.
It's half a season vs. a whole season.

Mr. Mayor: Hey GT, I see you've skipped probation, slapped a cop, and caused a riot at a club?
GT: Uhhh, yea. I gotta get this call.
Mr. Mayor: Uh, hold up there sista, sign this. We are gonna send you home, without pay, for a year.
GT: :goof:
Mr. Mayor: Yea, we'll see you back here in 12 monthes.
GT:
We ain't in the NFL.
Keep calling in missing time from work because you are either in jail or have to appear in court on numerous occasions......the unemployment will be waiting with open arms....:goof:
