2005What hasn't he done. LOL. I think he had a marijuana possession charge, an illegal gun-possession charge, a DUI and now providing liquor to a minor. All since December. I probably left something out. I also think he had some issues before going to the Bengals when he was in college.
The policy is behavior that is detrimental to the league, which includes starting riots in strip clubs.
What Physical Education degree?
2005
On July 13, 2005 Jones was arrested on charges of assault and felony vandalism stemming from a nightclub altercation.
On September 5, 2005 Jones was a guest at the annual Nashville Sports Council Kickoff Luncheon. After a loud verbal tantrum when he was told to wait in line for his vehicle later that evening, Jones was counseled by the police. He also refused to pay for any valet services used that evening.
In October 2005, in a petition filed by the State of West Virginia, it was alleged that Jones had not made regular and sufficient contact with his probation officer and that he did not report his July arrest in Nashville in a timely fashion. The court ordered the probation extended for a period of 90 days, although the state requested it to be extended one year.
2006
On August 25, 2006, Jones was arrested in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for disorderly conduct and public intoxication after claiming that a woman stole his wallet. She claimed that she did not steal anything and Jones spat on her. Police officers said they ordered Jones to leave several times, but he refused, continuing to shout profanities at the woman. A judge granted him six months probation on the conditions that he stays out of further trouble and away from the nightclub.
On October 26, 2006. Jones was cited for misdemeanor assault for allegedly spitting in the face of a female student from Tennessee State University during a private party at Club Mystic, a Nashville nightclub. He was suspended by the Titans for one game and was scheduled to be booked on the charge on November 17, 2006.
:tup:This following quote spoke volumes.....
"We must protect the integrity of the NFL," Commissioner Goodell said. "The highest standards of conduct must be met by everyone in the NFL because it is a privilege to represent the NFL, not a right. These players, and all members of our league, have to make the right choices and decisions in their conduct on a consistent basis."
I don't see the problem...at some point these players need to face the consequences of their actions, convicted or not...black, white or other. OUR kids are watching. If some kid sees Pacman get away with his behavior that's all it's going to take for them to 'act a fool' and then say "well, it dont' matter what i do cuz i can still make the $$$ and play in the NFL...Pacman did it...". :smh: Then what we gon do? And ya'll know it's a kid somewhere out there who can be influenced in that way.
Pacman's behavior takes away from those who are acting responsible. Ok, yeah folks make mistakes, but really...how many chances should one get?
Whether these folks want to be role models are not, for some kids these players are all they have to look up to...sad, but true.
But how many times makes it ok?Thanks for the partial list of "offenses". The TSU spitting incident was thrown out because of her changing her story. The probation violation issue was not an "offense" either.
Hey he did some wrong but it was not 10 "offenses".
But how many times makes it ok?
Not saying it is OK... a suspension of some sort was warranted...I don't agree with a full season but more along the lines of 8 games.
I am just saying if the media is going to report a number, make it an accurate number.
I doubt this decision will seriously impact athletes with similar attitudes and behaviors such as Adam "Pacman" Jones.
I don't agreee with the descision about PAC MAN JONES but don't just make him out of an example. The NFL is racist and the new owner is a racist and Pac Man don't deserve to be out an whole year. This crap has been going on for years in the NFL now they want to take action. NFL is white executives trying to run a black machine and Gene Upshaw is just a token pawn in the league.
Many would suggests that this is another example of America eating its young.
Let some cases pop up on your current job and see how fast you are shown the door. It's a job and you cannot continue to bring that mess to the job.
Hey BNB,
