NBA Ref bet on games, even those he called

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

The 4thQ of Game 6 of that series was really a trip because of all the Laker free throws and also the fact that before that quarter the Kings had shot way more FT than the Lakers. Oh... and Shaq hit 13 of 17 from the line.

No doubt the refs influenced but also the Kings tried to foul Shaq q bunch too.

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

Magic is ripping the Laker players as well...........so what about that?

They should be ripped, especially Odom. I never said the Lakers didn't have their part, but it's highly difficult for ANY team to overcome 28 more foul shots.

Phil said he's never seen anything like it in ALL of his coaching years.

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

That's up to the NBA to take care of that, nevertheless it was flat out WRONG!!
But you forget about Game 5 when the officials made the wrong call late in the 4th quarter and gave the ball back to the Kings and they made a three point shot to win the game. I guess that game was fixed to, in favor of the Kings.

I didn't forget, I was just messing with you to see what your response would be. But we all know the NBA officiating is abysmal at best. I remember in game 6 of the 2006 Finals when Wade punched Nowitzki in the stomach and the official concluded that Dirk fouled Wade's hand. Still the worst call I have ever seen on any level, in any sport, in my lifetime. And right on schedule, I see the NBA assigned Joey Crawford, Bennett Salvatore, and Mark Wunderlich for tonight's game. I guess Violet Palmer and Mr Magoo had prior commitments.

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

Here are the fouls for the Laker/King 2002 series:

Game 1 - Lakers - 22, Kings - 17

Game 2 - Lakers - 25, Kings -38:smh:

Game 3 - Lakers -15, Kings - 35:smh:

Game 4 - Lakers - 27, Kings - 26

Game 5 - Lakers - 23, Kings - 33:smh:

Game 6 - Lakers - 40, Kings - 25

Game 7 - Lakers - 33, Kings - 30

Totals:

Lakers - 185

Kings - 204

Maybe this official is simply lying just to save his hide. Who knows.
Look at Games 2, 3 and five. They were very much in favor of the Kings, so I have my doubts about this official's comments. I guess they fixed those games in the Kings favor.:emlaugh:

In the finals is what Phil said SON...
Magic know the Lakers are sucking arse, you need to accept it too ....

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

Here's an article talking about the officiating in the Game 6 in 2002.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/2002/playoffs/news/2002/05/31/lakers_kings_ap/

The article says that the Lakers shot 40 total free throws, while the Kings shot 25 total free throws.

When I look at Game 2 of the current series, that's nothing compared to 38 fouls to 10.

How about 46-13 in favor of the Lakers in Game 2 against the Jazz in the playoffs.

(repeat post)
Dude, I already explained that to you, but you keep bringing it up like a broken robot. The Jazz were number 28, in the league in committing fouls. That's DEAD LAST. The Lakers were number three in the NBA in getting to the line....NUMBER THREE. That's like oil and water. The two don't mix, so when you get together a team that commits the most fouls versus a team who is almost number one in free throw attempts, you will get those kinds of stats. In addition to that, the Lakers were much quicker than the slower footed Jazz players.
The Utah coach all but admitted this, but you seem to ignore all of those facts just to try and prove your point.

The Jazz have been fouling ALL year, in the reular season and playoffs. It was nothing new, so why be surprised? On the other hand, what happened to the Lakers in Game 2 with the Celtics, was totally out of the ordinary. A top free throw shooting team only getting two first half free throws was totally out of the ordinary and highly suspect. Plus Boston is one of the most foul proned teams in the NBA like the Jazz.

I hope that ends this diatribe on this Jazz/Lakers dilemna you're trying to manufacture because it's nothing like Game 2 of Lakers/Celtics.

Last, but not least, you failed to mention that in game four of the Laker/Jazz series, the Jazz had 45 free throw shots, while the Lakers had only 25, in spite of their regular season history of being the most foul proned team in the entire NBA.

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

And how are they planning on getting him? They can keep grabbing all these crooked refs, but if they dont cut the head off, then refs that come in will just be contaminated from jump by him.

The only people who might be able to do anything to him is the owners and they probably won't do a thing without concrete evidence. Plus the fact that a lot of what he has done lined their pockets as well.

Re: Ex Ref: NBA Fixed Games...........

*rhetorically*

Didn't the one game in question benefitted the Lakers? :retard:
I remember that 2002 series. Sactown had the game won until
those ghost calls started to go against the Kings.

:smh:

Actually I think the Lakers were leading anyway by a slim margin. The thing is that almost all of their points in the last 5-6 min came from free throws as opposed to field goals.

Game 7 is where Sac really choked away a lead.

Judge set to sentence disgraced NBA ref Donaghy

NEW YORK (AP) - Last summer, NBA referee Tim Donaghy stunned the league by pleading guilty to federal charges he took payoffs from a professional gambler for inside tips on games.

Since then, Donaghy has claimed corruption among referees runs deeper, drawing angry denials by the league and demands that he pay hefty restitution. He's also asked for mercy, citing an analysis that found he "would never have committed these offenses if he was not a pathological gambler."

Rest story

Re: Judge set to sentence disgraced NBA ref Donaghy

He got 15 month's.:swink:

Ref get's 15 month's.

NEW YORK (AP) - Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy was sentenced to 15 months in prison Tuesday for setting off a gambling scandal that tarnished the reputation of the league and raised questions about the integrity of its officiating.

Well he was only facing a maximum of 33 months, and he has been cooperating with the government (i.e., making any crazy accusation he could think of) since the beginning.
