Dude, dude, dude, why you gotta sit there and just blatantly lie and say that I said any such thing? I can't speak for GR, but I can speak for JayRob.
If I said that, find it and post it. Why you gotta lie dude?
Some folks just lie just to lie.
The bottom line is, when folks mention Jordan, they INTENTIONALLY leave out the fact that he had Pippen, Rodman, Grant, Paxson, Armstrong, Kerr and other VETERAN role players on his team to support him. Jordan always had a solid rebounder, another solid defender and at least one deadly outside shooter who was not afraid to take the shot in the clutch.
Kobe has none of that right now.
Bulls 90-91 roster that won their first title.....It sure looked dominate.
FROM
Armstrong, B.J. 1989 - 1999 College - Iowa (2nd year player in 90-91)
Cartwright, Bill 1979 - 1994 College - San Francisco( 12 year player )
Grant, Horace 1987 - 2003 College - Clemson ( 4th year player)
Hodges, Craig 1982 - 1991 College - Long Beach State (9th year player)
Hopson, Dennis 1987 - 1991 College - Ohio State (4th year player)
Jordan, Michael 1984 - 2002 College - North Carolina (7th year player)
King, Stacey 1989 - 1996 College - Oklahoma (3rd year player)
Levingston, Cliff 1982 - 1994 College - Wichita State (9th year player)
Paxson, John 1983 - 1993 College - Notre Dame (8th year player)
Perdue, Will 1988 - 2000 College - Vanderbilt (3rd year player)
Pippen, Scottie 1987 - 2003 College - Central Arkansas (4th year player)
Williams, Scott 1990 - 2004 College - North Carolina (rookie)
Look at that Roster and tell me what was great about it. Grant and Pippen were just coming into their own as 4th year players. Pippen was not even an all star yet. LOL. Odom has the same talents as Pippen but don't use them.
Stacy King(never lived up to his hype), Hopson(overated coming out of college), Perdue, Scott Williams (got on team as FA pick because UNC ties to MJ)
John Paxon was solid at PG.......never an all star and probably never as good as Derrick Fisher has been. LOL
BJ Armstrong was up and down.......good when he wanted to be..........disappear other times
Cartwright.........old when he got to Chicago.......lol. Serviceable center.......not as good offensively as Gasol
Cliff Levingston........veteran bench player and had been a good role player in Detroit before hand
Horace Grant.........solid........not yet the Ho Grant who became an all-star
Craig Hodges.........great 3 point player.......never a starter type.
So that Bulls teams on paper at the time and this Lakers team on paper are not that much different except having a guy named MJ. Remember that was the first playoff run that Pippen didn't suddenly come down with a migraine against Detroit.
Lakers team they beat in 90-91 NBA Finals.
Brown, Tony 1984 - 1991 College - Arkansas
Campbell, Elden 1990 - 2004 College - Clemson
Divac, Vlade 1989 - 2004 From - Serbia & Montenegro
Drew, Larry 1980 - 1990 College - Missouri
Green, A.C. 1985 - 2000 College - Oregon State
Johnson, Earvin Magic 1979 - 1995 College - Michigan State
Perkins, Sam 1984 - 2000 College - North Carolina
Scott, Byron 1983 - 1996 College - Arizona State
Smith, Tony 1990 - 2000 College - Marquette
Teagle, Terry 1982 - 1992 College - Baylor
Thomas, Irving 1990 - 1990 College - Kentucky; Florida State
Thompson, Mychal 1978 - 1990 College - Minnesota
Worthy, James 1982 - 1993 College - North Carolina
So you had Worthy, Perkins, Magic, B Scott, AC Green, a young Divac and Elden Campbell..........shid that team even with Worthy, Scott and Magic being older still was better on paper than Chicago when looking at who they had.......now the Bulls just were young in key spots with Jordan, Pippen and Grant. But hell that Lakers team would have given this Boston team a run for their money. MJ had to lead a team with ringless players including himself to beat a team with players with multiple rings and best PG in NBA history. All the Lakers bigs were nice..........AC,Perkins, Divac, Campbell, Worthy....all 6'8 and above.
