A little bit of Dirk and little bit of Paul Pierce.
Hmmm a seven footer compared to a 6'7 player.

A little bit of Dirk and little bit of Paul Pierce.
Hmmm a seven footer compared to a 6'7 un-athletic player.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are starting to look like a playoff contender in the tough west.

Yes, elements of McDermott's game, especially creating separation between him and the defender on the block and on the wing off the bounce is similar to Dirk.
He is similar to Pierce in that even though he isn't as explosive as others, he can make contested shots in one-on-one situations.
fixed.
I'm pretty sure Dirk is successful at creating separation because of his height
I'll say this. Folks said Chandler Parsons wouldn't be effective because he wasn't that athletic, but we see how that has worked out in Houston.
Then why does Dirk need to resort to the step back or that one-legged off-balance thingy he does in the low post or on the perimeter to get his shot off?
What folks?
The draft experts, which is why he was drafted in the 2nd round.
Dude was athetlic. He just didn't have his complete game yet
He wasn't flashy like the other picks. How he is playing with Houston now, is just like how he was playing at UF(junior and senior seasons), just with more offensive freedom.

Dude, what is your point? You can't teach someone how to be more athletic, it's something that they are just born with. Parsons was able to work on his skills. There's a different between talent and skills. The purpose of that video is to show how athletic Parsons was/is. McDermott will not be able to do the first dunk on that video
Anybody who says McDermott reminds them of Morrison hasn't paid much attention. Their games are not even remotely similar. At all.
