NBA Draft

Hmmm a seven footer compared to a 6'7 player.

Yes, elements of McDermott's game, especially creating separation between him and the defender on the block and on the wing off the bounce is similar to Dirk.

He is similar to Pierce in that even though he isn't as explosive as others, he can make contested shots in one-on-one situations.

I'm pretty sure Dirk is successful at creating separation because of his height. Doug won't have that same luck in the pros

Then why does Dirk need to resort to the step back or that one-legged off-balance thingy he does in the low post or on the perimeter to get his shot off?

I'll say this. Folks said Chandler Parsons wouldn't be effective because he wasn't that athletic, but we see how that has worked out in Houston.

Because AT HIS HEIGHT it makes it more difficult for the opponents to block his shot

Dude was athetlic. He just didn't have his complete game yet

He wasn't flashy like the other picks. How he is playing with Houston now, is just like how he was playing at UF(junior and senior seasons), just with more offensive freedom.

Dude, what is your point? You can't teach someone how to be more athletic, it's something that they are just born with. Parsons was able to work on his skills. There's a different between talent and skills. The purpose of that video is to show how athletic Parsons was/is. McDermott will not be able to do the first dunk on that video

My point was, just like how people doubted Parsons, people will be doubting McDermott, he has some good stuff and will be good in the right system. Folks sleeping on him because he played at Creighton.

Anybody who says McDermott reminds them of Morrison hasn't paid much attention. Their games are not even remotely similar. At all.

McDermott will be a good NBA player. Him being around Noah,Gibson,Bulter will make him a tough basketball player. plus McDermott is coming into a better situation than Adam Morrison. Great pick by the bulls
