Man, that game was anything but conservative back in the day. I actually saw TNST defensive lineman pick up Southern QB and try to throw him on his head (I kid you not). It happen a week or two in the NFL before they came to BR. Those folks from Jefferson Street tried to emulate it in BR. :lol: :emlaugh: I want even tell you about the boxing glove game that happen in Nashville...

TNState and SU should def be played more often than not. That is why i think a 7-game format would be nice. If SU could schedule FAMU, TNState, NWState, and ULL this year, i am sure your fans would have liked that schedule. Even SU-A&T would sell some tickets. The old head A&T alums I know STILL talk about that SU-A&T game played in the Circle City Classic in the 90s. In some regards, classics can be great if the promoters can entice the right match-up.

I met some SU grads down here at Universal Studios a few weeks ago. They were visiting from Philly. I told them how I use to roll down to BR with my JSU flags and the first thing they said was, "Well, was your car okay when you got back?". :lol:

Yeah pretty much BUT I think if teams start getting better and the conference improves as a whole, we can get those days back. We just have a bunch of fans tired of their teams being "piss po" sorry.. LOL In 2-3 years, the EAST should be in beast mode! If the WEST can catch up.. the SWAC will be tough. It's not impossible for Grambling and TxSo to step up to help SU and PV make the WEST competitive.

Man...me and A3 took that trip to Nashville for the SU/TnSU game. This was the same week as Gustav. Good times! :pimp:

It's OK to admit it doesn't look good for all our HBCU opponents this year. Bama St. JSU and FAMU all are going to get beat by at least 3 touchdowns. Po Edward Waters is going to lose by 70 or more.

Everything is new at JSU so we really don't know what to expect. However, nobody except JSU fans are expecting JSU to be good this year.

The vibe now is way different from when **** was the coach. People in Jackson hated **** from the day he was hired. I went to an alumni conference in Jackson after he was hired and they had to calm down the crowd so that they would not jump down the man's throat. They JSU family has embraced the Old Man and his staff. ..and YOU will see why!

Man 95% of JSU fans never ever liked Bell. We all know his hiring was underhanded, but I was willing to give the guy a chance. Overwhelming majority never gave him a chance and he simply confirmed their fears immediately.

Man.. Comegy was BEGGING to come to Jackson that year. Just imagine Comegy with Kent and Company... :eek: and you KNOW he would have brought in some transfers as APR didn't REALLY take effect til about 3 years later. I think teams would be still hating us over those azz whoopings!
 
I posted my list on the MEAC board.. this one particular Aggie thinks the NCCU-A&T rivalry should be higher. Obviously an Aggie-Eagle affair is the epitome or rachetness. :lmao:

Man how is it and correct me if I'm wrong...Kent had a stupid Sophomore or JR year...I can't remember but I do know his SR was shatty..well not better to me than his previous years...That dude had some much hype in his career which he deserved...he was good QB, was it when BELL came in that his play started to go down...or change of O.C.s or something..I always wanted to know why he had a crappy SR year...

**** was Kent's coach during his senior year. He changed the offense from a pass-happy offense to running dive plays on 3rd and 10.
